A Tomball, Texas, family said their 5-year-old daughter reported that another student touched her inappropriately at Grand Oaks Elementary. After the parents reported the concern, a voicemail from the principal captured her saying to colleagues, “When parents are crazy, my sympathetic voice kind of goes away.” Tomball ISD called the remark unprofessional and said the principal was on administrative leave while investigations continued. The available reporting does not establish what happened between the students or the final outcome of the district’s inquiries.

What the family reported

FOX 26 Houston reported on September 29, 2026, that Molly and Pablo Rucker said their daughter told them another student had touched her inappropriately in her classroom at Grand Oaks Elementary School. The parents said they brought the concern to the school on Friday, September 25. The allegation is the family’s account; the available reporting does not independently confirm the incident or provide further details about the other student.

What the principal said on the voicemail

According to FOX 26, Principal Heather Myers left a voicemail to arrange a Title IX meeting with the family. The recording continued after the message, capturing Myers speaking with colleagues. FOX 26 transcribed her remark as: “When parents are crazy, my sympathetic voice kind of goes away.”

The remark prompted the family to question whether campus leadership could be trusted. Molly Rucker told FOX 26, “It’s really hard to have trust in the system and the teachers.” That is the parent’s reaction, not a finding about the school’s handling of the underlying allegation.

What Tomball ISD said it did

In a September 28, 2026, letter reproduced by FOX 26, Tomball ISD Administration said the campus launched an investigation and reported its findings that same day. The district declined to release specific details about student incidents, citing confidentiality. The letter also said Myers was on administrative leave while the district continued investigating her conduct.

The district described Myers’s comments as unprofessional and wrote: “These comments do not reflect the professional standards we expect of our staff.” Its description of the campus process and personnel response is the district’s account; the available reporting does not independently verify the investigation’s work or findings.

What is known about the family’s next steps

FOX 26 reported that the Ruckers withdrew their daughter from the school and were arranging counseling. The station also reported that representatives of the People’s Choice Association accompanied the family to a Title IX meeting. The organization questioned whether campus administrators should investigate serious student-safety concerns; that is its position, not a determination about district policy or legal compliance.

What remains unresolved

As of the reporting available through October 3, 2026, the district’s final findings about the student-safety allegation and Myers’s conduct had not been reported. The district said its investigation was continuing and withheld student-specific information. The public record described here does not establish whether the reported touching occurred, whether the district mishandled or properly resolved the concern, or whether any law or policy was violated.
