What kind of game is it?
Tom is a new postgirl in a village. She delivers packages, but the rounds also give her opportunities to learn about residents by peeking into their homes. Nintendo presents it as a “creepy-cute” narrative adventure, with hand-drawn scenes and frame-by-frame animation. The publisher’s Nintendo description says: “This absurd adventure follows the mischievous Tom on her delivery rounds, which always seem to go awry.”
#1 Best Overall
- The next evolution of Nintendo Switch
- One system, three play modes: TV, Tabletop, and Handheld
- Larger, vivid, 7.9” LCD touch screen with support for HDR and up to 120 fps
- Dock that supports 4K when connected to a compatible TV*
- GameChat** lets you voice chat, share your game screen, and connect via video chat as you play
Players can focus on completing deliveries or stir up trouble, such as damaging gardens or taking decorations. The game’s promotional descriptions also frame replay as a way to notice missed details and try more cautious approaches. Steam adds a surreal tone to the pitch, describing strange villagers and animals and comparing the feel to a mix of Adult Swim and a children’s book. Those are store-page descriptions, not independent reviews.
