What you do in TOEM 2
The goal is to discover and photograph mysterious events called “TOEMs.” You travel through distinct environments, meet people and critters, and take on requests that often involve photographing something or solving a local problem. The camera is more than a way to document scenery: photos can reveal secrets, resolve puzzles, and contribute to quests. Camera attachments expand how you can interact with the world.

In PC Gamer’s review, the journey between towns by bus provides a rhythm for helping locals with photographic tasks and earning stamps. The reviewer says each area has a clearer central quest than in the first game, with local requests and a special attachment guiding the intended route. Platforms and Switch 2 save compatibility
Store and review listings cover PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. Steam lists a September 29, 2026 release, with Something We Made as developer and Something We Made and popagenda as publishers. The PlayStation Store lists the same release date and Something We Made AB as publisher. GamesRadar’s review lists PC, PS5, Switch 2, and Switch.
Nintendo’s US Switch 2 listing gives the release date as September 29, 2026, and lists TV, tabletop, and handheld play modes. It also states that save data from the Nintendo Switch version is not compatible with the Switch 2 version. If you are choosing between those Nintendo editions, do not assume you can carry a Switch save into the Switch 2 release.

Is TOEM 2 worth playing?
TOEM 2 is a good fit if you want a low-pressure adventure where observation, photography, and small acts of help drive progress. Its camera-based quests give the central activity a practical purpose, while its characters and humorous writing are among the qualities praised by GamesRadar. If you prefer difficult puzzles or less guided progression, PC Gamer’s concern about automatic-feeling progress is worth weighing before you choose it.
