Titanium Court is the indie game moving from its April 23, 2026 Windows PC launch on Steam to Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Android and iPhone on October 29, 2026. Created by AP Thomson and published by Fellow Traveller, it combines match-three puzzles, tower-defense planning and roguelike progression in a deliberately hard-to-classify adventure.
What Titanium Court is—and why it stands out
Nintendo describes Titanium Court as “A magical genre-bending romp that defies all description, including this one.” Its clearest mechanical label is match-3 tower-defense roguelike: you solve tile-matching puzzles, use the resulting decisions to defend against threats, and build progress across replayable runs.

Titanium Court won both the Seumas McNally Grand Prize and Excellence in Design at the 28th Independent Games Festival awards in March 2026. The festival’s 2026 rules list a $10,000 prize for the Seumas McNally category. A contemporary report also described the PC release as having an 85 aggregate score on Metacritic; that score is reported coverage rather than an independently checked Metacritic page here.

Release date and platforms
The console and mobile launch is scheduled for October 29, 2026. The PC version arrived first on Steam on April 23, 2026.

The Nintendo listing confirms that the game is designed for one player and supports all three Switch display modes: TV, tabletop and handheld. The listed 526 MB estimated file size is useful when planning storage, although final download requirements can vary with updates.

Switch 2 owners have a specifically confirmed version rather than needing to infer compatibility from the original Switch listing. That makes Nintendo Switch 2 the clearest choice for players who want the game on a newer Nintendo system, while the original Switch version provides the same announced October 29 launch window and portable, tabletop and TV flexibility.
How its hybrid design affects play
Match-three decisions
The puzzle layer is not presented as a separate mini-game. Match-three play is part of the decision loop, so arranging or clearing pieces feeds into the larger strategic problem.

Tower-defense planning
Defensive planning gives those puzzle choices a forward consequence: players must think about how a move supports survival rather than simply chasing a high score.
Roguelike replayability
Roguelike progression makes repeated attempts central to the design. Runs can be approached as experiments, with each attempt helping players understand combinations and make better choices on the next one.

Which version should you choose?
- Choose Steam if you want to play immediately; it is the only platform with a released version before October 29.
- Choose Nintendo Switch if handheld, tabletop and TV play on one device matters most.
- Choose Nintendo Switch 2 if you already own Nintendo’s newer console and want the officially confirmed Switch 2-compatible release.
- Choose PlayStation 5 if your main gaming system is Sony’s current console and you prefer playing there rather than buying a Nintendo system.
- Choose Android or iPhone if mobile access is the deciding factor; both are announced for October 29.
There is no announced multiplayer mode in the Nintendo listing: it specifies one-player support. The available platform information also does not establish cross-save or cross-buy features, so players should not assume those options will be included.
Why it is being called a standout indie game
The strongest evidence is the combination of design recognition and an unusual, coherent premise. Winning both the IGF’s top prize and its design award signals that the game’s structure—not just its presentation—drew attention from an independent-games jury. Its reported 85 Metacritic aggregate adds a positive critical snapshot, but the awards and the clearly defined hybrid format are more useful indicators for readers deciding whether the concept fits their tastes.

Players who want a single, familiar genre may find the description intentionally elusive. Those who like puzzle strategy, defense planning and run-based progression have a more direct reason to watch the October 29 release.
