Three games are listed for Xbox on October 6, 2026: Gears of War: E-Day, Star Wars: Galactic Racer and KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I～III]. They offer very different options: a Gears origin-story campaign, Outer Rim racing and a three-part Kingdom Hearts bundle.
What Xbox games are out today?
Microsoft’s Xbox Wire release schedule lists all three titles for October 6. Here is how they differ:

What to know about each release
Gears of War: E-Day
E-Day goes back to the beginning of the Locust threat, with Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago facing its emergence. Xbox Wire describes it as a campaign set 14 years before the original game. The schedule lists Xbox Series X|S, PC and cloud, with PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate availability. Microsoft has also announced a Collector’s Edition with physical collectibles and an Xbox Series X Premium Edition; see Xbox Wire’s edition announcement for those details.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer
Galactic Racer puts racing in the Outer Rim and is described by Xbox as a runs-based reinvention of the sport. StarWars.com announced a worldwide October 6, 2026 launch for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC. The game also has an official Xbox Store listing.

Is Galactic Racer the highest-rated Star Wars release in over 20 years?
That claim needs a date and a source. On October 2, 2026, GamesRadar+ reported that Galactic Racer had an 88 Metacritic score based on 50 reviews, and ranked it fifth among Star Wars games at that time. That is a dated report, not a settled all-time record: the Metacritic page retrieved for this roundup displayed no Metascore. The available evidence therefore supports calling it strongly reviewed in that early snapshot, not presenting the “highest-rated in over 20 years” wording as independently confirmed.
