Tom’s Guide reported an early Prime Day discount on the Lucid 4-inch Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper, describing it as a budget pick that cushioned shoulders and hips for side sleepers in its testing. The report was published October 2, 2026; its prices and stock status are a dated snapshot, not a confirmation of what is available now.
What Tom’s Guide’s testing says about the Lucid topper
Tom’s Guide tested the 4-inch version, which provides more cushioning than the same topper in 2-inch and 3-inch heights. Its testers reported that it cushioned the shoulders and hips while side sleeping, making it a possible option for someone who finds a mattress uncomfortably firm and wants a softer surface. That is a product-testing observation, not a promise of comfort for every sleeper or a claim of medical pain relief.

The topper is gel-infused and ventilated. Tom’s Guide said those features helped its testers sleep cool, but also noted that this is not a specialist cooling topper. If strong cooling performance is your main requirement, the report does not establish that this model will meet it.

Check the live retailer listing for current price, size availability, and stock before buying. The article also reported a 4.5-star user score and more than 32,000 reviews, but did not identify the review platform or specify when the count was recorded; treat those as undated figures from the article rather than a verified current rating.
How the Prime Day timing affects this deal
Tom’s Guide labeled the October 2 promotion an early Prime Day deal. TechRadar reported that Amazon’s October Prime Day event was scheduled for October 6–7, 2026. The deal’s duration beyond the date of Tom’s Guide’s article is unknown, so the event schedule does not guarantee that the same discount or stock will remain available.

Who should consider the Lucid 4-inch topper?
- It may suit you if your bed feels too firm and you want a thicker layer of cushioning; Tom’s Guide’s testing specifically reported shoulder and hip cushioning for side sleeping.
- Consider another option if specialist cooling is a priority, because Tom’s Guide said this is not a dedicated cooling model.
- Verify before ordering if the discount is the deciding factor: the reported prices and Lucid-site stock status are from October 2, 2026, and may no longer apply.
