How the Kindle page-turner works
The PT01 has two components: a handheld RF remote and a clamp that attaches to the edge of the Kindle. Pressing the remote sends a radio signal to the clamp, whose metal contact touches the E Ink screen and triggers the device’s page-turn command. Because the remote communicates with the clip rather than the Kindle itself, it does not require Bluetooth pairing or Wi-Fi.

The clip controls one direction at a time. Mounted on the left edge, it is intended to turn to the previous page; mounted on the right edge, it turns to the next page. Switching direction means moving the clip to the opposite side.

Kindle and case compatibility
The listing advertises support for Kindle Paperwhite, Oasis, Kids Edition, Scribe and Voyage, as well as Kobo readers, Android tablets, Surface devices, iPhone and iPad. A broad compatibility list does not guarantee that every generation or case will work. The clip must reach the active screen area, and the device must respond reliably to a physical touch at the chosen edge.

Check your model and case first
- Identify the exact Kindle generation, not just the family name. Edge dimensions and bezel layouts differ.
- Measure the reader with its case attached. The clamp is rated for devices up to 0.7 inches, but unusually bulky or rigid cases can still prevent correct placement.
- The manual warns that covers thicker than 11.5 mm may need to be removed.
- Leave enough margin for the metal contact without covering words or navigation controls.
If you regularly read with a folio, magnetic cover or thick protective shell, case-off use may be the practical option even when the overall thickness appears to fit.

- Turn on the screen-sensor clip.
- Press a button on the RF remote to pair it with the clip.
- Attach the clip to the suitable screen edge. Use the left side for the previous-page direction or the right side for the next-page direction.
- Confirm that the metal tip is clean and making consistent contact with the screen.
- Open a book and test several page turns before settling into a reading position.
The clip works best with Kindle’s tap-to-turn behavior rather than swipe-based page turning. If it covers text, move it farther toward the bezel or adjust the book’s margins. A small placement change can determine whether the contact triggers a page turn or interferes with reading.

When a page turn does not register
- Clean the metal contact and the screen area it touches.
- Re-seat the clip so the contact is actually over the active display, not the bezel.
- Try the opposite edge if you need the other page direction.
- Switch from swipe turning to click/tap page turning.
- Remove a case exceeding the manual’s 11.5 mm warning or test without the case.
- Re-pair the remote by powering the clip off and repeating the manual’s pairing sequence.

Bluetooth alternatives are not automatically better
The $25.99 Boox Tappy uses Bluetooth 5.4 and is aimed at Boox and Android devices. TechRadar reported an approximately 10-meter range and successful Android modes, but it did not turn pages on three tested Kindles. Page-turn commands are not universally supported across e-reader operating systems, so Bluetooth compatibility must be confirmed for the exact Kindle model.

Android Central reported on October 1, 2026, that Amazon introduced Kindle Click, a Bluetooth remote associated with the 2026 Kindle redesign. Availability and supported models can vary by market and product generation; check Amazon’s current specifications before purchase.
Is a $10 Kindle page turner worth it?
It is a sensible low-cost accessory if your priority is occasional hands-free reading and your Kindle and case fit within the clamp’s limits. The RF design avoids Bluetooth setup, and the remote can make a stand-based or in-bed reading position more comfortable. It is a weaker choice if you need guaranteed long-term durability, dislike any clip over the display, or want both page directions without moving hardware. For the price, the main decision is whether the convenience of a physical screen contact outweighs those fit and reliability compromises.
