Samsung announced on 7 October 2026 that former Arsenal and France player Thierry Henry is fronting a new phase of its Galaxy Z foldable campaign, “Welcome to Foldables,” rolling out across Europe as a video series. The spots assign the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra to multitasking, the Galaxy Z Fold8 to watching football and the Galaxy Z Flip8 to everyday use and selfies. Those are Samsung’s campaign portrayals, not independent product-test findings.
What the campaign shows
Samsung’s videos follow different versions of Henry through a day, using each phone to represent a different scenario. The company’s Spain announcement describes the campaign as showing how the Galaxy Z series can adapt to different lifestyles and moments.

The campaign name is “Welcome to Foldables.” Samsung says it is launching across Europe through videos. The announcement does not provide campaign-specific pricing or a full side-by-side specification comparison.
What Henry and Samsung say
In the Spanish-language announcement, Henry said: “Soy usuario de Samsung desde hace mucho tiempo. Necesito productos versátiles que puedan seguir mi ritmo, y la serie Galaxy Z hace exactamente eso. Cada dispositivo es diferente, igual que lo son las distintas etapas de nuestras vidas y carreras. Por eso, tiene que ser Samsung”.

Benjamin Braun, Samsung Electronics Europe’s chief marketing officer, said: “Thierry representa la versatilidad y la excelencia. Nuestra serie Galaxy Z responde a esa idea: hay un dispositivo para cada estilo de vida, cada aspiración y cada momento”.
Both statements are Samsung’s campaign messaging; they describe the partnership and the company’s positioning of the devices rather than independent assessments.

Samsung’s reported European sales comparison
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. says combined European sales of the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra were 50% higher than Galaxy Z Fold7 sales over the same period since launch. The announcement gives no unit counts or comparison methodology, so the figure should be read as Samsung’s reported comparison, not an independently verified result.
Optional model context from Samsung
A 15 July 2026 Samsung Business Insights recap, identified as commissioned content, supplies some additional specifications. Samsung says the Fold8 Ultra has a 5,000mAh battery and up to 27 hours of video playback, while the Fold8 has a 4,800mAh battery and up to 26 hours. The recap also describes multitasking-oriented Galaxy AI features for the Ultra and gives the Flip8’s weight as 180 grams. These are Samsung-published claims, not independent test results; the October campaign announcement itself does not include a complete specification table.
