Alinea Analytics estimated that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt sold about 130,000 copies across Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox on the day after its remaster launched on September 29, 2026. That is a third-party estimate for sales of the game—not an official CD PROJEKT RED count, a complete all-platform total, or a count of paid remaster upgrades.
What the 130,000 figure counts
In an October 1, 2026 report, Alinea Analytics said the game had sold another 130,000 copies across Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox “yesterday.” The timing places the reported sales day after the September 29 remaster launch, but Alinea’s wording does not establish a more exact calendar date. Alinea described it as the game’s highest daily sales since its first $3.99 Steam discount in summer 2024. Alinea Analytics’ report also said the game was then on sale for $24.99 across the three platforms; that is launch-period context, not a statement of current pricing.

The estimate has a defined scope: Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox. Alinea did not publish a sales breakdown by platform, and its figure should not be treated as an all-platform total. In particular, it does not include an established count for Nintendo Switch 2.
Why this is not a count of paid remaster upgrades
The remaster launched September 29, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2. Existing owners received the remastered edition, including Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, at no additional cost. CD PROJEKT RED joint CEO Michał Nowakowski said on the company’s first-half 2026 earnings call that it expected both returning players and first-time buyers, but was not guiding to a specific remaster revenue figure. The earnings-call transcript does not confirm Alinea’s sales estimate.

- robustness
So the 130,000 figure refers to estimated sales of The Witcher 3 around the launch, not owners paying for an upgrade. The available figures do not show how many sales were caused by the remaster or the promotion, rather than by other factors.
Keep the one-day estimate separate from the forecast
A separate figure reported on September 29 was a forecast, not a sales result. Erste Securities Polska analyst Krzysztof Tkocz forecast about 3 million copies sold from September 29 through December 31, 2026, with revenue of PLN 100–125 million. Bankier.pl/PAP Biznes reported that the analyst’s assumptions included a price increase from $40 to $50 and a 50% promotion at $25 at the time of his comment. Bankier.pl’s report presents those numbers as projections for a multi-month period; they are not confirmation of realized sales or revenue.

Daily active users are a different measure
Alinea also estimated about 2.4 million daily active users across Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox on the reported day—more than ten times the game’s 2026 average, according to the firm. Its platform shares were Steam 48.6%, PlayStation 40.4%, and Xbox 11.0%. Daily active users measure people playing during a day; they are not copies sold, concurrent players, or evidence that those users bought the game during the remaster launch.
