To solve The Sinking City 2’s Red Idol puzzle, open the Abandoned Office memory safe with code 6294, put the resulting Heart of Stone into the Strange Statue, then shoot its five targets in this order: kneeling person, octopus, Deep One statuette, hourglass, Leyden Jar. The statue gives you the Heart of Ice. Use that on the separate Frozen Statue in Cold Storage to obtain a Depleted Leyden Jar, then recharge the jar at the second-floor Construction Site.
Get the Heart of Stone first
This sequence takes place during the Fish Market chapter, “Time and Tide.” Continue the story until the memory sequence at the Abandoned Office, then enter 6294 into the safe. In the memory, the safe contains a Leyden Jar; in the present, the corresponding item is the Heart of Stone. You also receive the Cryptic Riddle note and ammunition. Red Idol puzzle solution: shoot the five targets in order
Find the multi-arm Strange Statue near Ma Fishface’s Shop. Insert the Heart of Stone before firing. Then shoot the marked objects in this exact sequence:

- Octopus — on the upper-left arm, representing “the sea.”
- Deep One statuette — on the lower-right arm, matching the clue about a god before whom one must kneel.
- Hourglass — on the left arm, for “time.”
- Leyden Jar — on the lower-left arm, for “hold the spark.”
After the fifth target, the Strange Statue breaks. Take the Heart of Ice it leaves behind. The target order and positions are also shown in the statue puzzle guide.

Use the Heart of Ice on the other statue
The Frozen Statue is not the Strange Statue you just broke. Go to Cold Storage and enter the Cold Room, whose door is marked with a snowflake. You need the Snowflake Key, located in the Auction Room. Use the Heart of Ice on the Frozen Statue and collect the Depleted Leyden Jar. The Fish Market route is detailed in the chapter walkthrough.
Recharge the Depleted Leyden Jar
Take the depleted jar to the charging machine on the second floor of the Construction Site. During the charging encounter, the process can stop when power fails. When that happens, find the active switch beside the red light and pull it to restore power; repeat this whenever charging stops. Retrieve the jar after the encounter. The charged Leyden Jar is the third one needed to open the three-starfish door to the Broken Hold.
