Use your browser’s full-page capture command, not the ordinary screenshot shortcut. In Microsoft Edge, press Ctrl+Shift+S (or open the menu and choose Web capture), select the full-page option, review it, and save. In Firefox, choose Take Screenshot and then Save full page. On an iPhone, take a Safari screenshot, tap its thumbnail, and select Full Page. These workflows capture content below the visible window; labels and availability can vary by browser version, device, and market.
What “capture an entire page” means
A standard screenshot records only the pixels currently visible in the browser window. A full-page screenshot stitches or renders the content that continues below the fold into one tall image (or, on some devices, a document-style capture). It is useful for archiving an article, sharing a long error report, reviewing a design, or documenting a page without taking many separate images.
The exact shortcut is browser-specific. The most clearly documented paths here are Microsoft Edge, Firefox, and Safari on iPhone. Do not assume that a shortcut from one browser works in another.
Microsoft Edge: the quickest keyboard shortcut
Use Ctrl+Shift+S
- Open the webpage in Microsoft Edge and wait for the content you need to appear.
- Press Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows. Alternatively, right-click an empty area of the page and choose Screenshot or Web capture, depending on the label shown by your version.
- Choose the full-page capture option rather than a selected-area option.
- Review the resulting image. Edge lets you add comments or markup with pen or touch before copying or saving.
- Choose the save or copy command and select the destination or clipboard.
Use the menu when the shortcut is unclear
Microsoft’s Edge learning guide gives this route: Settings and more (…) → Web capture → Capture full page. The Edge feature description says the tool can capture a full page or a selected area, including long or moving webpages, and then let you annotate, copy, or save it. Microsoft notes that functionality can vary by device, market, and browser version, so a missing command usually means your interface differs rather than that the page cannot be captured.

Firefox: Take Screenshot, then Save full page
Keyboard and context-menu method
- Load the page in Firefox.
- Right-click an empty part of the webpage and select Take Screenshot. On Windows or Linux, you can also press Ctrl+Shift+S; on macOS, press Command+Shift+S.
- In the capture bar, select Save full page.
- Download the image or copy it to the clipboard.
Firefox presents Save full page and Save visible as separate choices. Select the former when you need content below the current window; Save visible captures only what is on screen.
Developer Tools for advanced captures
Firefox Developer Tools can expose a full-page screenshot button. Open Developer Tools, enable Take a screenshot of the entire page in Available Toolbox Buttons, and use the screenshot icon. Mozilla also documents the Web Console helper :screenshot --fullpage. The helper can accept options for a delay, filename, device-pixel ratio, and CSS selector, which is useful when a page needs time to render or you want a particular element rather than the whole document.
iPhone: capture a complete Safari webpage
- Open the webpage in Safari.
- Take a screenshot with the iPhone’s hardware buttons.
- Tap the thumbnail preview when it appears.
- Select Full Page in the screenshot editor.
- Crop or mark up the capture if needed, then save or share it.
Apple documents an entire Safari webpage as the example for this workflow. The available controls can depend on the iPhone model and software version. If Full Page does not appear, check that the screenshot was taken in Safari and that the page type supports the document-style capture.

Choose based on the browser or device already open, whether a keyboard shortcut is convenient, whether you need only the visible viewport, and whether advanced controls are worth opening Developer Tools. Edge, Firefox, and iPhone all distinguish a complete-page capture from a visible-area or selected-region capture.

Wait for content before capturing
Many pages load images, charts, comments, and advertisements as you scroll. Let the page finish its initial loading, then inspect the lower sections if possible. In Firefox’s console workflow, a delay can give late content time to render.
Handle sticky headers and moving content
Fixed navigation bars may appear repeatedly or cover text in a stitched image. If the result is unreadable, try the browser’s native capture again after closing overlays or use Firefox’s selector-aware Developer Tools command for a targeted element.

Expect very tall files
A long page can produce a large image that is awkward to email or print. Save the original, then resize or convert a copy for sharing. If the page is interactive, animated, or personalized, preserve the URL and capture time alongside the image so another person can understand what was recorded.
Respect access controls and privacy
A screenshot does not bypass a login, paywall, bot check, or permission boundary. Do not include passwords, private messages, payment details, personal addresses, or tokens in a shared capture. Redact sensitive areas before distributing the file.

The shortcut does nothing
- Confirm that the browser window has focus and that another application has not remapped the keys.
- Use the right-click menu or Edge’s Settings and more (…) → Web capture path instead.
- Check the browser version and device; Microsoft explicitly says feature availability can vary.
Only the visible area is saved
- In Edge, choose Capture full page, not a selected area.
- In Firefox, choose Save full page, not Save visible.
- On iPhone, open the screenshot editor and switch to Full Page before saving.
Images or sections are missing
- Wait for lazy-loaded material and repeat the capture.
- Dismiss cookie dialogs, newsletter popups, and chat panels that cover the page.
- For a page that changes while you scroll, capture a stable state or use Firefox’s delay and selector options.
The file is too large to share
Keep a lossless original for your records, then create a smaller copy. A sequence of focused captures may be more legible than one extremely tall image when the reader needs to inspect individual sections.

FAQ
Is a full-page screenshot the same as a scrolling screenshot?
They describe the same practical goal: recording content beyond the visible viewport in one capture. Browser labels differ, so look for “full page,” “entire page,” or “scrolling” wording.
Can I capture a page I cannot access?
No. The browser or service still needs permission to load the page. A screenshot tool does not grant access to private or restricted content.
Should I save PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF?
Use the format offered by your workflow and the job: an image is convenient for visual review, while PDF is often easier to paginate or print. Keep an original before converting.
