Roborock’s robot vacuums and mops are not one product. Its US catalogue spans the Q, Qrevo, and Saros families, and the features that matter in a real home (how the robot navigates, how it mops, what the dock does without you, how tall it is, and which app features come with it) change from model to model. The practical starting point is to choose the family for navigation and dock automation, then confirm the exact model against its own product page before buying.
What Roborock sells under the floor-cleaning banner
Roborock’s US robot vacuum catalogue groups its floor-cleaning robots into families. The names are not interchangeable labels. A Q-series machine, a Qrevo model, and a Saros model can each vacuum and mop, but they differ in sensing, mop hardware, dock equipment, and body design. Compare models within the family you are considering, and treat any feature not listed on a specific model’s page as unconfirmed for that model.

How the navigation systems differ
Navigation is where Roborock’s families diverge most clearly, and each description below comes from Roborock’s own product material. None of these systems has been independently ranked against the others in the sources used for this guide.

Q series: PreciSense LiDAR on listed models
The Q series page identifies PreciSense LiDAR as the mapping system on the Q models it lists. LiDAR builds a floor map by scanning with a laser sensor on the robot, which is why Roborock pairs it with map-based features such as no-go zones and room-level scheduling. Check the individual Q model you are considering, because the page does not present every Q machine as identical.

Qrevo S Pro: LDS navigation plus Reactive Tech obstacle avoidance
The Qrevo S Pro page lists LDS navigation, which Roborock describes as PreciSense LiDAR, together with Reactive Tech structured-light obstacle avoidance. In Roborock’s description, the LiDAR handles mapping and the structured-light sensing handles obstacles in front of the robot. That split is a useful way to read the spec sheet, but it is the manufacturer’s architecture, not a measured comparison.
Saros 10R: StarSight Autonomous System 2.0
The Saros 10R page describes the StarSight Autonomous System 2.0. Roborock presents it as the navigation and obstacle system for that model. Because it is named differently from the Q and Qrevo systems, do not assume it works like the LiDAR or structured-light setups above. Read the page’s description of what it does and compare that with what you need.

Mopping: what to check on the exact model
Mopping is the feature most often assumed to be identical across a brand, and it is the one that varies most in practice. Use this checklist before you decide:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches- Mop hardware. The Qrevo S Pro uses dual spinning mops. Roborock’s Q-series page describes different mopping systems across its products, so confirm which mop design the model you want uses.
- Carpet behavior. Check how the model handles carpet, including whether the mop lifts or is disabled on carpeted areas. Roborock’s pages describe the mop system; they do not give independent results for carpet cleaning.
- Mop handling. Confirm whether the dock washes and dries the mops, and how often you will need to refill clean water and empty dirty water on that model.
The official pages supply product descriptions only. If carpet performance or mop hygiene is a deciding factor, look for independent testing from a reputable review outlet that tests the same model, and treat Roborock’s wording as a starting claim.

What the dock automates, and what you still do
Roborock’s US store overview describes dock functions that run from dust emptying to mop washing and drying and water refilling. Which of these functions a dock includes depends on the dock and the model, so the same overview cannot tell you what your machine does.
- Find the dock listed with your exact robot model, and note which functions it performs: dust emptying, mop washing, mop drying, or water refilling.
- List the chores the dock removes from your routine. A dock that empties dust and refills water saves a different amount of effort than one that also washes and dries mops.
- List what remains. Dust bags, mop cloths, filters, and brushes are consumables that need replacing, and some tasks may still be manual depending on the dock. Roborock’s store identifies an accessories category, but any replacement part should be matched to your robot and dock before purchase.
A Roborock with an automated dock is less hands-on than one without, but none of these machines should be described as maintenance-free.

The 10mm lift feature allows it to seamlessly transition to low-pile carpets, ensuring no wet messes and complete cleaning versatility.
Will it fit your home?
Height and footprint decide whether a robot reaches under the furniture you want it to clean. Roborock states that the Saros 10R is 3.14 inches (7.98 cm) tall. That is a manufacturer specification for one model, not a general figure for the lineup, and other models list different dimensions on their own pages.

Measure the gap under sofas, beds, and cabinets, then compare it with the robot’s listed height. Leave some margin, because a robot that barely fits can get stuck on a cable or rug fringe.
- Dock space. Measure the dock’s footprint and the clearance it needs in front of it. The dock is often the largest object in the room.
- Floor transitions. Check the threshold or step-height claims on the model’s page and compare them with the thresholds in your own home, such as door sills and carpet edges.
The Qrevo Edge 3 Pro page lists model dimensions, so use those figures rather than estimating from another family.

For ultimate hands-free convenience, use voice commands via Alexa or Google Home to start, stop, pause, resume cleaning, or send your robot back to the dock effortlessly
App features and their limits
Roborock says its app supports route viewing, maps, schedules, and no-go zones. The same overview states that the app is not available on the E series, so an E-series buyer should not expect these features. Confirm both the model and your region before buying, because feature availability can differ by market.
What the numbers on product pages do and do not show
Roborock’s pages list specifications that are easy to compare but hard to interpret. The Qrevo S Pro page lists 18,500 Pa of suction power. The Qrevo Edge 3 Pro page claims that the robot can detect more than 300 obstacles. Both figures are manufacturer specifications, accessed in 2026. A higher suction number does not by itself establish better carpet cleaning, and an obstacle-count claim does not establish how reliably a robot avoids a particular object in your home. No independent test data, long-term reliability record, repair cost, or regional comparison was established for this guide, so use these figures as a starting point for comparison.

Choosing by priority
- If you want to compare obstacle handling, start with the navigation descriptions above, then check the model’s own page for the sensing it lists.
- If you have carpet and want mopping, confirm the mop design and carpet behavior on the exact model before anything else.
- If you want the least hands-on upkeep, prioritize the dock functions that match the chores you dislike most.
- If furniture clearance is tight, measure the gap first and compare it with the listed height or dimensions.
- If you plan to use schedules or no-go zones, confirm app support for the model and your region, and avoid E-series machines for this purpose.
Roborock’s product pages change, and prices, availability, features, and market versions can differ from what is described here. Recheck the model page before you buy.
The Bottom Line
No single Roborock is the right answer for every home. Start with the family, because navigation, dock functions, and app support follow it. Then confirm mop design, carpet handling, and dimensions on the exact model’s page, and treat the manufacturer’s suction and obstacle figures as claims to check rather than verified results.
