The REZE FLOW M5 is a complete motorized curtain rod that its maker says can adjust curtain position as sunlight shifts. It is designed to replace existing curtain hardware, not attach to a rod you already own. That makes the sun-tracking idea potentially useful for reducing direct sun on a screen, but the product’s fit, mounting and smart-home requirements matter before you consider it.
How the M5’s sun tracking is supposed to work
The M5’s motor and drive are concealed inside the rod. REZE FLOW describes curtain positioning that follows changing sunlight; Homecrux gives the example of closing curtains partway around noon to keep direct sun off a TV, then opening them as the sun moves. This is a maker-described capability, not an independently verified glare-reduction result. The available reporting does not establish tracking accuracy or how well it works in different rooms, seasons or window orientations.

This is distinct from a basic time schedule. A schedule opens or closes curtains at set times; following the sun implies that curtain position responds to changing sunlight. The sources describe the latter feature but do not give enough detail to establish its sensing method or adjustment precision.

The M5 is an all-in-one rod system with its own wall brackets, rather than a retrofit motor that clips onto existing curtain hardware. Expect to remove the current rod or track and install the M5’s mounting hardware. Check the wall and window area, the bracket positions, and the product’s installation requirements before ordering; the system is not a drop-in upgrade for every existing setup.

Check width, curtain style and load before buying
Measure the window
REZE FLOW’s FAQ lists two sizes by window width. It also says the curtains open from the center toward both sides, so the system is not suited to a one-way draw if that is essential for your room.

The listed ranges overlap from 74 to 82 inches. If your window is in that range, confirm the manufacturer’s current sizing guidance and the dimensions of the actual rod before choosing.

Check the curtain top
The maker says ring-top and grommet-top curtains are supported when the inner diameter is at least 1.6 inches (40 mm). Its FAQ says S-fold and Ripplefold curtains are not directly supported. Verify your curtain’s top construction and opening size rather than relying only on a retailer’s style label.

REZE FLOW lists a maximum curtain load of 33 lb (15 kg). For rods extended beyond 78 inches (2 m), its FAQ calls for a third center bracket to reduce sag and support smooth operation. Treat these as manufacturer specifications, not independently tested load limits.

Smart-home control and scheduling depend on your platform
REZE FLOW describes the M5 as a Matter device and says sunrise and sunset routines can be set up in Apple Home and Alexa. The maker also says a compatible ecosystem hub is required for advanced scheduling and remote access. Matter compatibility alone does not mean that every feature works identically across every controller, so confirm current support for your chosen platform and hub.
The FAQ says Google Home did not then support curtain or blind scheduling in Routines, although voice control was available. Platform support changes; check Google Home’s current automation options before buying if routines are central to your use.

For a fixed morning or evening routine, time-based automation may be enough. If your aim is to respond to sunlight moving across a room, verify that the specific sun-tracking behavior is available in the configuration you plan to use; the cited material does not document its setup or platform-by-platform operation in detail.

REZE FLOW reports a noise level of ≤45 dB measured 1 m away using a 4 m rod and a 15 kg curtain. That figure is a maker-reported test result under those stated conditions, not an independent measurement.

Homecrux reports the maker’s claim of more than 10,000 opening-and-closing cycles, along with heat, humidity and salt-spray testing. The report does not provide a third-party test report or enough detail to assess those tests independently.
