A connector submission can show “Live” in the review portal while its public listing still returns “This connector doesn’t exist.” Eugeniya Ivanova reported that exact mismatch after submitting Publora to Claude’s connectors directory: the page appeared several hours later, without her sending a prepared support email. Her September 24, 2026 account is a useful troubleshooting case, not a guarantee about how the portal behaves now.
What happened between “Live” and the missing page
Ivanova submitted Publora, a social publishing integration she describes as offering eighteen tools and supporting publishing across ten social networks. The directory portal displayed “Live” soon after publication, but opening the listing page produced “This connector doesn’t exist.” Several hours later the listing appeared. Ivanova says she had prepared a support email but did not need to send it.

The key practical distinction is that a status shown inside a portal and a page reachable by the public are separate checks. In this one submission, the status changed before the listing became available. It does not establish a normal publication delay, a service-level guarantee, or that waiting is always the right fix.

- Open the public listing URL itself in a fresh browser session, rather than treating the portal status as proof that the page is reachable.
- Compare the URL generated by the live portal with the one in its current instructions. Ivanova reports that the instructions showed a listing URL pattern containing “/connectors/,” while the live form produced a URL without that segment; an approval email reportedly still used the older pattern.
- If the portal says “Live” but the listing remains unavailable, record the status, exact URL, error text, and time you checked. If it does not resolve after a reasonable interval, use the portal’s current support route rather than assuming the delay will match this account.
Why the portal said the server had no authentication
At the authorization step, Ivanova says the portal inferred that Publora’s server did not require authentication because it could return a tool list from tools/list without a token. In her account, tools could be enumerated without authorization, but invoking them required it; she selected OAuth manually.

This illustrates an important distinction in an MCP integration: listing available tools does not necessarily require the same authorization as calling those tools. A review interface that infers authentication from enumeration alone may not reflect the service’s actual access rules. Check the real call path and configure the directory’s authorization option to match the service, rather than assuming that successful tool discovery proves calls are unauthenticated.
Verify the actual behavior
- Test tool discovery separately from a representative tool invocation.
- Check the behavior with and without the relevant credentials, observing whether the service returns a tool list, permits a call, or rejects it.
- Set the portal’s authentication choice to match the service’s actual requirements. Ivanova reports choosing OAuth manually; the correct choice depends on the current service and portal configuration.
Why the directory flagged all eighteen tools as missing titles
Ivanova says the validator marked all eighteen tools as missing titles even though her server supplied a top-level Tool.title field. She attributed the warnings to the directory checking the older annotations.title field instead. Her article says the top-level field was added to the MCP specification in June 2025, but that version-specific detail and the directory’s current validation rules are not independently established here.

If a directory reports missing titles, inspect the exact metadata field its validator expects; do not assume that a title in one location satisfies a check for another. Before changing a server to accommodate the reported mismatch, confirm the current MCP specification version and the directory’s current requirements. Ivanova’s account describes one validator behavior at one point in time, not a universal rule for MCP servers.

Where the form and its instructions reportedly diverged
The submission process included several discrepancies in Ivanova’s account. The written instructions described eleven steps, while the live form had ten. The icon field requested a URL rather than an uploaded file. The listing URL pattern differed between the documentation, form, and approval email.

She also reports losing a ten-step submission draft after choosing “Save and exit.” That is one author’s experience, not proof that the portal never saves drafts. Until the interface confirms that a draft has been saved, treat persistence as uncertain.
A safer submission workflow
- Start from the portal’s live submission form and follow the fields currently displayed, rather than relying on old screenshots or instructions alone.
- Check each field’s requested input type. For example, Ivanova’s form reportedly asked for an icon URL rather than an image upload.
- Compare the generated listing URL with the current documentation and any approval message. If they disagree, use the live portal’s current route as the point to verify, not an older example copied from an email.
- Keep a local copy of submission text and required values before using “Save and exit.” Confirm that the portal shows a saved state before leaving if it offers one.
- After submission, check both the portal status and the public listing page.
Verify suspicions before treating them as blockers
Ivanova describes initially suspecting several problems—a missing network, a 403 response, invalid tokens, and a required parameter change—then checking live behavior and finding that those suspicions did not hold up. Her account’s broader lesson is practical: a plausible explanation for an error is not yet evidence that the integration is broken.

Reproduce the specific request, note the response, and change one variable at a time. A mistaken diagnosis can turn an ordinary mismatch into unnecessary implementation work or an inaccurate support report. As Ivanova puts it, “A green status in the portal doesn’t necessarily mean the thing next to it is already working.”
