The exhibition opens to the public on Friday, May 28, 2027, at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. The museum announced the Denver stop as part of the exhibition’s North American tour, which began at Chicago’s Field Museum.

What will visitors see?
The exhibition pairs Fossil Pokémon from the video game series with real organisms known from the fossil record. Visitors can examine real fossils and specimen casts, including a cast of the SUE T. rex skull, alongside Pokémon such as Tyrantrum. The displays use specimens and sculptures to explore how fossils are found and studied in both the Pokémon world and real-world paleontology.
The exhibition was created by Chicago’s Field Museum, Tokyo’s National Museum of Nature and Science, and The Pokémon Company International. Patrick O’Connor, director of Earth & Space Sciences at the Denver museum, described it as “a unique way to engage guests of all ages with paleontological science.”

Where is the Denver museum, and what are its current hours?
The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is at 2001 Colorado Blvd., Denver, CO 80205. Its current general hours are 9 a.m.–5 p.m. daily, with extended hours until 9 p.m. most Fridays. The exhibit page says food and drinks are not allowed inside the exhibition. These are current venue details and may change before the 2027 visit, so check the museum’s visitor information closer to your date.

The Field Museum’s May 2026 announcement for its Chicago presentation named items including an Excavator Pikachu plush, key chains, tote bags, Pokémon Trading Card Game accessories, stickers, and clothing. That Chicago merchandise list does not establish what the Denver museum shop will carry.
