How the trial works
Silence the Idol takes place in the Television Studio. Red Barrels introduced it in the Season 6: Project Judas update on March 24, 2026. The setup is to stop Bob Vanier, groomed by the Kress Twins as a political candidate, from making his live announcement. Red Barrels’ Project Judas patch notes confirm the launch context; the studio puzzle details below come from community-maintained walkthroughs.
In the first three studios, the core loop is: check the director’s plan, arrange the set, find the hidden switchboard clues with a blacklight, enter the code, then sabotage the recording. After Studio 3, the trial switches to a broadcast-disruption objective in Studio 4.
Infiltrate the studio and reach Studio 1
Start by following the objective to infiltrate the studio and ruin the conference, then go to Studio 1. A player walkthrough recommends entering through a window to the left of the main entrance, pressing the button inside, and following the signs. Treat that route as community advice rather than a guaranteed layout: follow the current objective markers if the entrance or route differs.

Prepare Studio 1 and sabotage its recording
Set the props
Open the Studio Plan shown by the director’s camera and arrange the set to match it. Move props along their highlighted rails and rotate them to face the Idol as indicated. In Studio 1, the walkthrough describes moving a modified stage light into position and orienting it toward the Idol. Keep an eye on patrols while setting the stage.
Find and enter the switchboard code
Once the set is ready and the control room is accessible, use its spotlight with a blacklight to search the studio for hidden markings. Each clue supplies a letter and number in a color group. The walkthrough lists the button ranges as follows:

Use the marked letter-and-number pairs to connect the corresponding buttons, then confirm the board. The community walkthrough reports that an incorrect confirmation shocks the player, so do not guess if a clue is still missing. After a successful connection, pull the stage-light lever to sabotage the recording.
Escort the Idol to Studio 2 and repeat the loop
After the sabotage, follow the objective to escort the Idol onward and join him at Studio 2. Check that studio’s own plan, arrange its props, find the blacklight clues, enter the switchboard values, and sabotage the recording. The available walkthrough does not establish a single fixed prop arrangement for every run, so use the live plan rather than assuming a remembered layout.

A player guide suggests going around the Television Studio and using the front entrance to reach later studios while escorting the Idol. It also reports that the Idol moves along the track when a reagent is nearby and makes noise while moving. Treat these as player observations; objective markers and current in-game cues are the better guide if the behavior differs.
Recharge the power stations before Studio 3
The objective sequence calls for recharging the power stations between escorting the Idol toward Studio 3 and joining him there. A community walkthrough describes stations on upper floors and gives thresholds for the two stations it covers:

These are community-reported values for the described stations, not a complete difficulty-by-difficulty requirement chart. Watch each station’s in-game meter and follow its objective prompt if the threshold in your run differs.

- Place the modified slit lamp facing the Idol.
- Put the nurse mannequin between the lamp and camera, facing toward the Idol.
- Place the camera to the southwest and aim it northeast.
- Place the light to the southeast and aim it northwest.
Use the current Studio Plan as the authority if starting positions, orientation, or markings differ. When the set is ready, search thoroughly with the blacklight spotlight: the letter and number parts of a clue may be divided. Connect the switchboard pairs, sabotage the recording, and then follow the objective to escort the Idol onward.
Disrupt the Studio 4 broadcast and escape
Studio 4 changes the task from preparing and sabotaging a set to undermining the live show. The Television Studio walkthrough describes finding marked audience figures with a spotlight and replacing cheering cassettes with booing cassettes until the approval rating drops from 100% to 0%. The guide does not document every cassette location, so use the markers and prompts in your run.
When the approval rating reaches 0%, censor the Idol with the large double-bladed buzzsaw concealed in the talk-show desk. Then return to the shuttle, wait for it, and exit the trial.
What to do if a clue or cassette is missing
Check the surrounding area carefully with the blacklight spotlight and follow the objective marker before assuming an item has failed to spawn. Red Barrels’ April 1, 2026 Project Judas hotfix notes documented fixes for clues obstructed by props and cassette icon or inventory issues. That hotfix is historical documentation, not confirmation that every issue is absent in the current build. Red Barrels’ update archive lists later updates through September 2026, but the available notes do not establish whether those patches changed this trial’s layouts, battery thresholds, or enemy behavior.
