THE NEW DENPA MEN, the free-to-play RPG from Genius Sonority, is ending service at 11:00 a.m. Japan Standard Time on December 7, 2026. That is December 6 at 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time and 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time. The shutdown applies to the game’s service, not just its Nintendo Switch release.
Which Nintendo Switch game is shutting down?
It is THE NEW DENPA MEN, a free-to-play role-playing game developed by Genius Sonority. It first launched on Nintendo Switch on July 22, 2024; reporting also lists iOS and Android releases on March 10, 2025, and a Nintendo Switch 2 release on April 6, 2026. The developer describes the decision as an end of service, so players should not treat it as a Switch-only shutdown. Gematsu’s report gives the platform history and North American time conversions.

When does THE NEW DENPA MEN shut down?
Genius Sonority’s official cutoff is December 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. JST. Because Japan is ahead of North America, that same moment falls on the evening of December 6 for players in the Pacific and Eastern time zones: 6:00 p.m. PT and 9:00 p.m. ET. The two dates describe one deadline, not conflicting announcements. Events still running at the service cutoff will end at that time.

What should players do before the cutoff?
Use paid Jewels before service ends
Paid-item sales ended October 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. JST. The developer recommends using paid Jewels before the service ends. Afterward, game data—including Jewels and items—will no longer be available.

Keep the app and Support ID accessible
Genius Sonority says players can view their Support ID in the app’s Support section through March 31, 2027. The developer asks players not to delete the app or reinstall it on a new device until the refund procedure for unused paid currency is complete, because it may need player data to handle inquiries.
How will unused paid currency be refunded?
The developer says the unused paid portion of in-game currency will be refunded under Article 20, Paragraph 1 of Japan’s Payment Services Act. This applies to paid currency; the notice does not promise refunds for items or other game data. The refund request period and procedure have not yet been announced. Why is the game ending?
Genius Sonority said it concluded that it would be difficult to continue providing a service that meets players’ expectations. The October 5, 2026 notice does not cite a financial cause, so claims that revenue or commercial failure prompted the shutdown are not established by the announcement.
