The luxury appliance brand is Dacor. Samsung Electronics America announced an agreement to acquire the California-based company in 2016, and Samsung’s financial statements record that the purchase of all Dacor equity shares was completed on September 7, 2016.
Which luxury appliance brand does Samsung own?
It is Dacor, a brand Samsung described as an American luxury-appliance company. Samsung Electronics America announced the acquisition agreement on August 10, 2016. Its interim consolidated financial statements later recorded that Samsung Electronics America acquired 100% of Dacor’s equity shares on September 7, 2016. Samsung’s announcement and 2016 financial statements distinguish the announcement from the completed transaction.

Did Dacor keep its own brand?
Samsung said when it announced the agreement that Dacor would become a wholly owned subsidiary while maintaining its corporate identity and brand. The announcement also said there would be no changes to operations and that US-based manufacturing was planned at that time. Those were the terms and plans described in 2016; they do not establish every detail of Dacor’s current operations or where each current product is made.

Samsung described Dacor as having designed and manufactured American-made luxury kitchen appliances since 1965. That is historical company-reported context, not confirmation that every current Dacor model is made in the United States.
Is Dacor the same as Samsung appliances?
Ownership does not, by itself, mean that Dacor and Samsung-branded appliances have the same components, features, performance, or quality. The available ownership announcements establish who acquired Dacor and how Samsung described the brand arrangement; they do not document model-by-model component sharing or provide a comparative product assessment.

These details can vary by model and market and are not established by the acquisition announcement.
What does Samsung’s later Dacor coverage establish?
In a June 2024 Korea business-news article, Samsung reported expanding Dacor product displays and sales at department stores and furniture-brand showrooms. That indicates continued marketing activity in the context covered by that article; it does not establish present-day US availability or the current selection in any particular market. Samsung’s Korea report describes that activity.
