Temple of Seasons is a fan-made patch for The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons, not a standalone official Zelda game. It is built for a matching US-version Game Boy Color ROM. Its save-data behavior and support for multiplayer or link features have not been documented in the available coverage, so neither should be assumed.
What is Temple of Seasons?
Temple of Seasons is a fan-made ROM hack of Oracle of Seasons. PlayCentral reported its release on August 31, 2026, and described version 1.072, dated September 14, 2026. A ROM hack is a modification applied to a game image; the patch is not itself an official Nintendo release or a retail cartridge.

The reported adventure includes five dungeons, an expanded Temple of Seasons, a route from Subrosia to Mount Tetra, and new items. It changes the usual combat and exploration approach: Link does not rely on his sword, and the items are important for both fighting and traversal. These are reported project details, not results of independent testing. PlayCentral’s coverage also says version 1.072 addressed bugs, unintended shortcuts, and possible progression blockers.

Creator Jay described the item focus this way: “Here more than ever, your growing arsenal is necessary for both traversal and combat, and expect a few brand-new items to add a fresh take on navigation even for Oracles veterans.” The quote was published by Retro Dodo.

What platforms can you play Temple of Seasons on?
The base game, Oracle of Seasons, was released for Game Boy Color. The hack requires a matching US-version ROM of that game, according to PlayCentral, which says the ROM should be made from a legally acquired copy. To play the patched image, you need an emulator or other setup capable of running a patched Game Boy Color ROM; the coverage cited here does not establish compatibility with particular devices, emulators, or services.
Nintendo offers Game Boy Nintendo Classics through Nintendo Switch Online, but that does not confirm that the fan-made patch works in that service. Nintendo’s page describes the official Game Boy Classics offering, not Temple of Seasons compatibility: Game Boy – Nintendo Switch Online.
PlayCentral reported that no official German version had been announced at the time of its article and expected English text because the hack is based on the US version. That is a report about the project’s language status at publication, not a guarantee about every build.

How do you set up the patch?
- Start with the correct base game. The reported requirement is a matching US-version Oracle of Seasons ROM, made from a legally acquired copy. If you are using a physical cartridge as the source, confirm its region matches the patch requirement; the cartridge contains the original game, not Temple of Seasons.
- Apply the patch to the matching ROM. The available coverage identifies the project as a patch, but does not specify patching software, file format, or exact steps. Follow the instructions accompanying the patch rather than guessing at those details.
- Run the patched Game Boy Color image. Use an emulator or setup that supports patched Game Boy Color ROMs. Specific device and emulator compatibility is not established by the cited reports.
Can you use an existing Oracle of Seasons save?
That is not established. The available coverage does not explain whether an existing Oracle of Seasons save can be imported, how save slots work, or whether the hack preserves the original game’s save data. Do not assume that a save from the unmodified game will work with the patch. The RetroAchievements page lists a tracked v1.072 Game Boy Color image hash, but a hash identifies an image build; it does not document save compatibility: Temple of Seasons supported game hashes.
Does Temple of Seasons support multiplayer or link features?
Hack-specific multiplayer and link support are undocumented in the available coverage. The original Oracle of Seasons is a single-player game. The original Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages can exchange story information through passwords or Game Link Cable interactions, but that does not show that this hack implements those features. Do not treat the original games’ connectivity as confirmation of support in Temple of Seasons. Background on the original Oracle games.
