One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchIf you mean The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, the documented changes that can help are limited: update to version 1.1.0 to get the favorited-echo display filter once you have learned at least 30 echoes, and, on Switch 2, use the update’s visual optimizations and HDR support if you have an HDR-compatible TV. Nintendo does not document a brightness, text-size, resolution, frame-rate, or graphics-quality menu in its update notes, so there is no verified set of in-game readability or performance sliders to recommend. Nintendo’s official page covers Echoes of Wisdom; it does not establish “Echoes of Hyrule” as an alternate title.
First, confirm which Zelda game you mean
Nintendo’s official update page is for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, not a game it identifies as Echoes of Hyrule. The guidance here applies if that is the game you meant. Nintendo’s page lists version 1.1.0, released June 3, 2025, as the latest update on the page consulted October 11, 2026. Nintendo’s update history and installation instructions are the source for the version details below.

Which documented changes can improve readability or performance?
Use the favorited-echo filter when your list is long
Version 1.1.0 added an option to display only favorited echoes after you have learned 30 or more echoes. Nintendo says this feature is available on both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Its practical benefit is reducing the number of entries shown when you are navigating a large echo collection; Nintendo does not describe it as a general readability setting or say that it changes text size, contrast, or other visual presentation.

If you do not see the option, first confirm that the game is updated and that you have learned at least 30 echoes. Avoid relying on menu instructions for another Zelda game: the cited update page does not document those steps.
#1 Best Overall
On Switch 2, account for the visual update and HDR support
On Nintendo Switch 2, version 1.1.0 also optimized visuals for the Switch 2 display and high-resolution TVs, and added HDR support. HDR requires an HDR-compatible display when playing in TV mode. The update notes do not specify a resolution, frame rate, HDR setup procedure, or an in-game HDR adjustment path, so they do not support claims that a particular setting will make the game sharper, brighter, or faster.
Do not expect a documented performance toggle
Nintendo says the update fixed various issues for a smoother gaming experience, but it does not identify the issues or quantify a performance change. The notes provide no measured frame-rate or loading-time figures. They also do not document adjustable performance modes or controls for brightness, text size, camera, motion, resolution, or graphics quality. Those options may not be inferred from generic console troubleshooting advice; the cited source simply does not establish them.
Switch and Switch 2: what Nintendo’s notes establish
| Feature in version 1.1.0 | Nintendo Switch | Nintendo Switch 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Show only favorited echoes after learning 30 or more | Added | Added |
| Visual optimization for the Switch 2 display and high-resolution TVs | Not stated for Switch | Added |
| HDR support | Not stated for Switch | Added; in TV mode, requires an HDR-compatible display |
| Specific performance measurements or user-adjustable graphics settings | Not stated | Not stated |
“Not stated” means Nintendo’s cited version notes do not establish the feature for that platform; it is not a claim about every possible console or display configuration.

A practical choice by platform
- Playing on Switch: install version 1.1.0 and use the favorited-echo filter once you have learned at least 30 echoes. Nintendo’s notes do not list a Switch-specific display or performance adjustment.
- Playing on Switch 2 in handheld mode: the update includes visual optimization for the Switch 2 display. The HDR requirement Nintendo specifies applies to TV mode.
- Playing on Switch 2 in TV mode: the update includes visual optimization for high-resolution TVs and HDR support; HDR requires an HDR-compatible television or other display.
In short, the clearest documented navigation improvement is the echo filter. Switch 2 owners also get the stated visual changes and HDR support, but Nintendo’s notes do not provide enough detail to prescribe image adjustments or promise a quantified performance gain.
