That makes “now available” a historical headline, not a description of a new release. The iPhone and iPad game was a mobile adaptation of the franchise’s Wii title, not the Wii game itself. Nintendo Life’s 2013 coverage describes the mobile release as a port of the Wii game.

The same coverage noted mobile-oriented control options, reflecting the shift from a console release to touchscreen devices. Can you download The Lost Reels on iPhone today?
Present-day access is unresolved. Pocket Gamer reported in 2015 that The Lost Reels was among older SEGA games removed from the iOS App Store. That historical report does not establish whether the game appears in any current regional storefront, or whether someone who bought it previously can still redownload it.
Accordingly, do not assume that an old announcement means the game is currently available to new buyers. Nor does the available information confirm account-specific redownload eligibility or compatibility with current iPhone and iPad models. Check your own App Store account and device for any listing or purchase-history option; the cited reports cannot confirm what those checks will show today.

How does the Wii game differ?
The Wii release is the original console product associated with the mobile port. It is a separate platform edition: the 2013 iOS announcement concerned The Lost Reels for Apple mobile devices, while the Wii title was made for Nintendo’s console. A Wii copy is not an iPhone or iPad download, and it should not be treated as a substitute for the mobile app.
