The Garmin watch in the headline is the Instinct 3 – 45 mm AMOLED. Tom’s Guide fitness and wearables writer Dan Bracaglia called the Instinct 3 his favorite Garmin and singled out the 45 mm AMOLED version. His October 5, 2026 article reported it for $349 at Amazon, $100 below its stated $449 price. That was a dated Prime Big Deal Days offer—not confirmation of a live deal on October 7. Garmin’s U.S. product page displayed $349.99 when checked for this article, but that also does not establish Amazon’s current price.
Which Garmin is the reviewer’s favorite?
It is the Garmin Instinct 3, with Bracaglia’s preferred version being the 45 mm AMOLED model (part number 010-02936-00 on Garmin’s U.S. site). The sale report concerned this specific variant, not every Instinct 3 configuration. Tom’s Guide’s October 5 article is the source for the reviewer’s preference and the Amazon deal report.

What makes the 45 mm AMOLED model appealing?
Garmin lists a 1.2-inch AMOLED display, metal-reinforced bezel, built-in LED flashlight, multi-band GPS with SatIQ, and a 10 ATM water rating. It supports notifications when paired with a compatible phone and uses 22 mm QuickFit bands. These are manufacturer-listed specifications, not independent test results. Garmin’s U.S. product page has the full specification list.

|---|---|
| Smartwatch mode, wrist gesture | Up to 18 days |
| Smartwatch mode, Always On Display | Up to 7 days |
| Battery-saver watch mode | Up to 24 days |
| GPS-only | Up to 32 hours |
| All satellite systems | Up to 25 hours |
| All satellite systems plus multi-band, with the stated typical SatIQ assumption | Up to 23 hours |
These are Garmin estimates, not guaranteed runtimes; Garmin says actual battery life varies with enabled features. The Instinct 3 owner’s manual gives the mode-specific figures.

What does the 10 ATM water rating mean?
Garmin’s manual describes 10 ATM as pressure equivalent to a depth of 100 meters. That is the rating’s pressure equivalence, not an unqualified guarantee that the watch is suitable for every kind of diving or underwater activity. Follow Garmin’s use and care guidance for the watch.

Is the reported sale still available?
The $349 Amazon price was reported on October 5, 2026, during Prime Big Deal Days, as a $100 reduction from $449. Garmin’s U.S. product page separately displayed $349.99 when retrieved. Neither observation confirms that Amazon still has the offer on October 7; retailer prices, stock, shipping, and color availability can change. Should you buy it or wait?
If you want this exact AMOLED Instinct 3, base the decision on the price and availability shown by the retailer now—not on the earlier $349 report. The review’s “favorite” is one writer’s preference, while the product details and battery figures above come from Garmin. The available information does not establish whether a lower future price is likely.
