A report published by Android Central on October 2, 2026, says Samsung may use its rumored Exynos 2700 chip in the Galaxy S27, S27 Plus and an unconfirmed Galaxy S27 Pro. That could disappoint buyers who prefer Snapdragon, but Samsung has not confirmed the S27 Pro, its processor or which regions would get which chip. There is no verified S27 performance data to show whether an Exynos version would be better or worse.
What the Galaxy S27 Pro rumor actually says
Android Central reported that Korean outlet The Elec said Samsung was moving the Exynos 2700 into mass production. Android Central said the chip might be intended for the Galaxy S27, S27 Plus and rumored S27 Pro. It also said the S27 Ultra’s processor allocation remained unresolved.

This is indirect reporting, not a Samsung announcement. The S27 Pro itself is not confirmed in the reviewed sources, and no official processor or regional configuration has been announced for it. The same report says current speculation points to Snapdragon for U.S. S27 models, but it does not establish a confirmed regional map for the Pro.

If Samsung does offer an Exynos-powered S27 Pro, buyers who specifically want Snapdragon may have fewer choices in some markets, or may need to check which configuration is sold locally. But the available information does not establish that an Exynos model would run slower, get hotter, use more battery, or perform worse in games. Those conclusions require confirmed hardware and independent, comparable testing.

Android Central also relays rumors that Samsung is working on heat management and performance for the chip. Those claims are unverified, and they are not test results. A meaningful comparison would need to identify the exact phone and region, then measure sustained performance, heat, battery use, graphics and gaming, and connectivity under stated conditions.
The Galaxy S26 shows why the market matters
Samsung’s current-generation materials already caution against assuming every Galaxy S model uses the same processor everywhere. Samsung’s Galaxy S26 specifications list Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy and Exynos 2600, with the note: “Type of AP may vary by device and market.” Samsung’s 2026 first-quarter interim report also lists the Galaxy S26 as a March 2026 product and names those platforms.

Qualcomm said on February 25, 2026, that Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy would power the S26 Ultra globally and the S26 and S26+ in select regions. Qualcomm called it “the world’s fastest mobile system-on-a-chip,” a claim by the chipmaker rather than an independent comparison. The S26’s confirmed arrangements show that regional variation is already a practical issue; they do not prove how Samsung will configure the S27 family.

If you need a phone now, compare the Galaxy S26 configuration actually sold in your market and verify its processor for the exact model before buying. Samsung’s market-variation caveat makes the model and region important. If choosing Snapdragon is essential to you and you can wait, hold off on making a decision about the S27 Pro until Samsung confirms the phone and its regional specifications.
