Yes, the Freedom Phone is still listed for sale on the Clear store: the page showed a $499 price and an “Add to Cart” button when checked. That listing does not confirm available stock, successful checkout, reliable delivery or current software support. The phone launched in 2021 as a privacy- and free-speech-focused Android device; its official update archive’s latest visible product update is dated January 5, 2022.
What happened to the Freedom Phone?
Erik Finman’s Freedom Phone was introduced in 2021 as a smartphone positioned around free speech, privacy and an alternative app marketplace. ClearCellular announced a technology partnership with the phone in August 2021, describing plans to bring its hardware and software technologies to the device. The company characterized the phone as de-Googled and promoted a suite of decentralized services; those are company claims and plans, not independent proof of privacy, security or censorship resistance. A court case summary says Finman and Freedom Phone Limited developed and sold the business to ClearCellular, which is owned by Michael Proper. The parties later had disputes related to the sale and Finman’s employment. The cited court orders denied motions; they do not amount to final findings establishing every allegation as true. The company’s update archive documents a period of delayed fulfillment. In a November 25, 2021 notice, it said some customers had received phones and others should receive them in the following weeks. A December 20 notice and a January 5, 2022 update followed; the January post said the company was working through backorders. These notices report the seller’s statements, not independently audited shipment totals. Freedom Phone update archive

Is the Freedom Phone still available to buy?
The Clear store product page currently lists the phone for $499 and displays an “Add to Cart” control. Treat this as evidence that the seller presents it for sale, not confirmation that it is in stock or that an order will be accepted and delivered. The page does not establish current inventory or successful checkout.
The product page describes the phone as running ClearOS Mobile 10, an open-source Android operating system with preloaded apps. Its marketing language about a “freedom first” operating system should not be read as an independent security audit. The official update archive’s newest visible product update is from January 5, 2022, and the available sources do not establish whether the listed device has received recent operating-system or security updates. Without current update information and an up-to-date independent assessment, the listing alone is not a basis for calling the phone secure for present-day use.

Will it work with your carrier?
The seller says the phone is compatible with T-Mobile, AT&T and other domestic and international GSM networks. That broad statement does not guarantee service in every location or on every carrier plan. Before buying, compare the device’s supported bands with your carrier’s current requirements and confirm that the carrier will activate it where you live. The product page does not establish universal compatibility.

Is it a successor to today’s privacy phones?
No successor relationship is established. Purism’s Liberty Phone is a separately marketed privacy-oriented device, not a continuation of the Freedom Phone. If comparing them, check operating system and app availability, current update and security support, carrier compatibility, price, repairability and which privacy claims have independent documentation.
