Short answer: final PC requirements for The Expanse: Osiris Reborn are not published yet. The only detailed hardware figures available are provisional recommendations for an unfinished beta. That guidance starts at a Ryzen 5 5600 or Core i5-10400F, 16 GB of RAM and a Radeon RX 6600/RTX 3060 Mobile-class GPU, and rises to a Ryzen 5 7600X or Core i5-12600K with an RTX 4070 or Radeon RX 7700 XT for the recommended tier. The beta requires 64-bit Windows 10, DirectX 12 and more than 30 GB of free storage.
Those numbers are useful for planning, but they are not a promise of final performance. The developer says the beta is not fully optimized and that final requirements will be released closer to the game’s planned Q2 2027 Windows launch.

What is officially known right now
As of 16 October 2026, neither storefront provides a complete final specification sheet. Steam’s current system-requirements panel lists Windows 10 for both minimum and recommended entries but does not provide the processor, graphics card, memory or storage details needed to judge a PC. The Epic Games Store lists Windows as the platform and marks CPU, memory, GPU and storage as “TBA.” It gives the planned availability window as Q2 2027.

Provisional beta requirements
The following table reproduces the published beta guidance. Both tiers use 16 GB of system memory, DirectX 12 and more than 30 GB of free space.
| Component | Provisional minimum for the beta | Provisional recommended for the beta |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10 64-bit | Windows 10 64-bit |
| Processor | AMD Ryzen 5 5600 or Intel Core i5-10400F | AMD Ryzen 5 7600X or Intel Core i5-12600K |
| Graphics processor | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Mobile, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080, AMD Radeon RX 6700M or AMD Radeon RX 6600 | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 or AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT |
| System memory | 16 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Graphics API | DirectX 12 | DirectX 12 |
| Free storage | More than 30 GB | More than 30 GB |
“More than 30 GB” is a minimum amount of free space, not a statement that the installed game will always occupy exactly that size. Leave additional room for patches, shader caches and the operating system rather than filling a drive to its limit.
Can your PC run Osiris Reborn?
Until the final sheet arrives, the beta tiers are the most defensible way to make a preliminary assessment. Check your system against the table, then treat the result as a confidence level rather than a guarantee.

At or above the provisional minimum
A desktop with a Ryzen 5 5600 or Core i5-10400F and a Radeon RX 6600-class card is in the published entry tier. The list also accepts a GTX 1080, RTX 3060 Mobile or RX 6700M, so the targets span both older desktop cards and mobile GPUs. A machine in this range should be considered suitable for trying the beta, but the announcement does not specify resolution, preset or frame rate. Performance may vary substantially between locations, combat scenes and later patches.
At or above the provisional recommended tier
A Ryzen 5 7600X or Core i5-12600K paired with an RTX 4070 or RX 7700 XT meets the current recommended guidance. This is the safer planning tier for owners who want more headroom while the game is still being optimized. It still does not establish a guaranteed 60 FPS, 1440p mode or maximum-quality preset.
Below the provisional minimum
If your processor, GPU or memory falls below the listed entry hardware, there is no official basis for predicting playability. The beta may launch, but you could encounter severe frame-time spikes, missing features or unsupported-driver errors. Wait for updated requirements instead of buying hardware solely on an assumption that a lower specification will work.

CPU
The minimum pair—Ryzen 5 5600 and Core i5-10400F—represents the published starting point for processor capability. The recommended pair—Ryzen 5 7600X and Core i5-12600K—moves to newer, faster designs. A CPU upgrade can help when the GPU is underused, frame rates fluctuate in busy areas, or 1% lows are poor. The beta notice does not identify a core-count requirement or a specific CPU feature beyond the named models.

GPU
The minimum list is not a single performance class: it includes the GTX 1080, RTX 3060 Mobile, RX 6700M and RX 6600. Laptop and desktop versions can differ in power limits and cooling, so a model name alone does not guarantee identical results. The recommended RTX 4070 and RX 7700 XT indicate a substantially higher graphics tier, but no official VRAM target, ray-tracing mode or resolution target has been published.
RAM
Both provisional tiers specify 16 GB. That is the published requirement, not an assurance that background applications will have no effect. Close browsers, launchers and recording tools when diagnosing stutter, and keep the operating system’s page file managed automatically unless you have a specific reason to change it.
Operating system and API
The beta list calls for 64-bit Windows 10 and DirectX 12. The storefront listings do not yet add a final Windows-version policy. Keep Windows and your graphics driver current, and use a 64-bit installation; a 32-bit environment does not meet the stated beta target.

The requirement is more than 30 GB of free space. The announcement does not state whether an SSD is mandatory, give an eventual install size, or distinguish between a one-time download and patch capacity. An SSD is a sensible choice for faster loading and less contention with the operating system, but that is general PC advice, not a published Osiris Reborn performance requirement.

Are official low, medium, high or ultra settings available?
No official source currently documents named graphics presets, internal resolution targets, frame-rate caps, ray tracing, upscaling technologies or benchmark results for Osiris Reborn. You therefore cannot responsibly select a guaranteed “best settings for 60 FPS” profile from published data.
When the beta exposes a default preset, use it as the starting point and measure your own system. The following workflow is general PC tuning guidance, not a tested result for this game.
A repeatable graphics-settings workflow
- Update the platform. Install the latest Windows updates and a current driver for your NVIDIA or AMD GPU. Reboot before testing so a pending shader compilation or driver installation is not mistaken for game performance.
- Record a baseline. Select the game’s default preset, choose your monitor’s native resolution, and play the same demanding route for several minutes. Note average frame rate, the lowest sustained rate and visible hitching. If you use an overlay, pay attention to frame-time consistency and 1% lows rather than average FPS alone.
- Stabilize heavy effects first. If frame time is unstable, lower volumetric effects, shadows, reflections and foliage before reducing every setting indiscriminately. These are common PC tuning priorities; they are not confirmed rankings from an Osiris Reborn benchmark.
- Adjust resolution carefully. Keep resolution scale or any available upscaler conservative until you inspect motion, fine text and distant geometry. A lower internal resolution can raise performance while making the image softer or producing shimmering.
- Cap the frame rate. Set a cap appropriate to your monitor—such as a stable value below the refresh ceiling—when uncapped rendering causes heat, noise or uneven frame pacing. A consistent cap is preferable to a high average that repeatedly collapses in combat.
- Test representative scenes. Check a hub, an outdoor traversal area and a combat encounter if the beta provides them. A setting that looks stable in a quiet room may produce different 1% lows in a crowded or effects-heavy scene.
- Re-test after patches. The beta is explicitly not fully optimized. Revisit the same test route after game updates because shader compilation, streaming and CPU/GPU workloads can change.
What can be said about 1080p, 1440p and 4K?
Nothing in the current official material assigns a resolution or frame-rate target to either hardware tier. The minimum and recommended lists should not be translated into promises such as “RX 6600 equals 1080p/60” or “RTX 4070 equals 4K.” Those outcomes depend on the final renderer, scene complexity, graphics presets, upscaling support and optimization state.
For planning only, use your monitor’s native resolution as the first test, then adjust the internal scale or quality settings through the workflow above. Record the result with the exact beta build and settings; do not treat a result from one patch as a final-release specification.

Laptop considerations
The inclusion of the RTX 3060 Mobile and RX 6700M in the provisional minimum list confirms that mobile GPUs are part of the beta guidance. Laptop performance still depends on wattage limits, cooling, CPU power mode and whether the system is running on battery. Test while plugged in, select the manufacturer’s performance mode, and make sure the game uses the discrete GPU rather than integrated graphics. These steps improve consistency but cannot turn a lower-power mobile chip into its desktop counterpart.
Should you upgrade before release?
Do not purchase a new GPU or CPU solely because of the provisional list. If your current PC already matches the recommended tier, it is positioned well for beta testing, but final targets and performance data remain pending. If it sits near the minimum, wait for the final requirements and independent benchmarks before choosing an upgrade. A balanced upgrade matters: pairing a much faster GPU with an older processor can leave frame rates CPU-limited, while a CPU upgrade cannot compensate for a GPU that lacks the needed rendering capacity.
Whichever tier you target, retain more than the stated 30 GB of free space, verify 64-bit Windows 10 support, and confirm that your power supply, case airflow and laptop cooling can sustain the hardware. Those checks prevent an otherwise compatible configuration from becoming unstable under load.
What to check when final requirements are published
When Owlcat Games posts the release specification, compare it with the beta list on more than model names. Look for separate minimum and recommended resolutions, target frame rates and 1% lows; VRAM and system-RAM requirements; storage capacity and whether an SSD is required; supported upscaling modes; ray-tracing options; and whether the figures were measured on the beta or the final release build. Also check the supported Windows versions and DirectX requirement in the final announcement.
That information will determine whether the current beta targets remain conservative, become obsolete, or need to be revised upward. Until then, the two published hardware tiers are planning guidance only.
