The Early Spring (早春晴朗), starring Jing Bo-ran and Sun Qian, was filmed in Beijing and Harbin, according to published location reports. The scenes presented as Tibet were reportedly shot at the Tibetan village section of Beijing’s Chinese Ethnic Culture Park, also known as Minzu Park—not in Tibet. Other reported locations include Beijing offices and residential settings, Harbin landmarks and a restaurant used as the fictional Old Couple’s Tavern.
Where was The Early Spring filmed?
Published reports place filming in two cities: Beijing and Harbin. The reported locations span the series’ Beijing workplace and shared-home settings, a Beijing park used to represent Tibet, Harbin’s central landmarks and a mountain area near the city. The reports identify selected sites; they do not establish a complete filming itinerary.

Beijing locations
Chinese Ethnic Culture Park: the Tibet stand-in
The scenes that appear to take place in Tibet were reportedly filmed in the Tibetan village section of Beijing’s Chinese Ethnic Culture Park, also called Minzu Park, in Chaoyang District. Hindustan Times says framing and camera angles kept modern Beijing out of view. The reported location is therefore a Beijing stand-in, not evidence that these scenes were filmed in Tibet. For workplace sequences, the report names Beijing Kerry Centre and CP Center, both in Chaoyang, and says real office and lobby spaces were used. Shang Zhitao’s shared-home setting is reported as Tiantongyuan East District 1 and West District 2. These are residential areas; the report does not identify a visitor attraction or establish that private interiors are accessible to the public. Hindustan Times’ location report

Harbin locations
Saint Sophia Cathedral, Architectural Art Square and Central Street
Reports identify Saint Sophia Cathedral and Architectural Art Square among the Harbin locations, as well as Central Street (Zhongyang Dajie). Local coverage says the crew filmed at Sophia Square the morning after shooting at a restaurant. Hindustan Times and Life Daily report these Harbin settings.
Donghechang 1917 and the Old Couple’s Tavern
A Russian-style private restaurant associated in the reports with Donghechang 1917 Wide Street Cultural Complex was dressed as the fictional Old Couple’s Tavern. Life Daily quotes venue manager Wang Haichao describing a shoot that began with set dressing on November 18, 2025, and continued into the following day; the report says the restaurant kept the fictional tavern sign after filming. The reporting does not establish the venue’s current public name or visitor access, so check locally before planning a visit. Hindustan Times and Life Daily
Jinlong Mountain and Junwang Mountain
Some scenes framed as a Swiss ski trip, along with an aurora-related phone call, were reportedly filmed at Junwang Mountain in the Jinlong Mountain area near Harbin. Hindustan Times says Jinlong Mountain was the production’s final filming location and reports that filming wrapped on November 26, 2025. HRB Blue Net also reported the wrap at Jinlong Mountain on November 25, 2025. The on-screen Swiss setting should not be mistaken for an actual shoot in Switzerland. Hindustan Times and HRB Blue Net

How these settings map to the story
- Beijing: reported workplace and shared-home settings, plus Minzu Park standing in for Tibet.
- Harbin: reported city landmarks, the restaurant setting and mountain-area scenes.
The locations above come from published reporting rather than an official production location list. The reports do not verify current opening hours, public access or permission to visit filming spaces; that is especially relevant for offices, residential compounds and a private restaurant.

Why the series drew attention
Netflix reported that The Early Spring debuted at No. 2 on its Global Non-English TV list for the week of August 24–30, 2026, with 2.4 million views and 21.5 million hours viewed. Netflix said the show entered the weekly Top 10 in 22 markets and topped its weekly TV charts in Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Vietnam. These are Netflix’s figures for that week, not cumulative or all-platform audience totals. Netflix’s September 2, 2026 announcement
In the same announcement, Netflix said 13 of the series’ 24 episodes were streaming globally as of September 2, 2026, with more episodes coming soon. Episode availability can change over time and by territory. Separately, Life Daily reported cumulative effective plays above 331 million and total online exposure above one billion; those are that outlet’s distinct metrics and should not be combined with Netflix’s weekly figures.
