Yes: Kauai and the Kauai Expeditions playlist arrived as free updates to The Crew Motorfest with Season 11 on October 7, 2026. The season also launched a separate paid island experience, Tomb Raider: Secrets of Niʻihau, so not every new island or activity is free.
What the free Season 11 update adds
Ubisoft introduced Kauai as a free island north of Oʻahu. It describes the island as wilder and less populated than the other Motorfest islands, with an emphasis on exploration and off-road driving. Dense swamps slow vehicles in difficult terrain, while Red Canyon is one of the island’s prominent natural features. Ubisoft’s Year 4 announcement put the launch date at October 7, 2026. Ubisoft’s Year 4 showcase describes Kauai as a “brand-new free island to explore.”

The island’s route network is listed as 95 km of asphalt and 105 km of off-road routes in Ubisoft’s Season 11 overview. The Kauai Expeditions playlist is free as well, and is built around exploring the island and discovering terrain.

Some expedition activities use a winch on selected vehicles to clear obstacles and move cargo. Ubisoft also announced a route-discovery layer and wildlife across the islands. The Season 11 overview says more than 40 wildlife species can be found across the archipelago, but that detail is separate from the Kauai island and playlist access.

What is free and what costs extra
The clearest distinction is between the Kauai update and the separate Niʻihau adventure. Kauai and Kauai Expeditions are free with Season 11; Tomb Raider: Secrets of Niʻihau is premium content released alongside the season.
| Content | Access | What it includes |
|---|---|---|
| Kauai and Kauai Expeditions | Free Season 11 update | Kauai island access and the off-road exploration playlist |
| Tomb Raider: Secrets of Niʻihau | Year 4 Pass or standalone DLC | Niʻihau environment, Tomb Raider playlist, and associated content |
Ubisoft’s Season 11 overview listed the standalone Tomb Raider pack at $9.99/€9.99 and the Year 4 Pass at $29.99/€29.99 when the overview was published on October 6, 2026. The Pass includes 21 vehicles as well as the premium Tomb Raider experience. Prices and storefront availability may vary by market and change over time, so check the relevant store before buying.

Does the free island mean the game is free?
No. Kauai is a free update for The Crew Motorfest, not a free copy of the game. Ubisoft lists the game for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and Ubisoft+ subscription access. Ubisoft’s Year 4 article gives October 8, 2026, as the Nintendo Switch 2 launch date. Its official game page also advertises a free trial of up to five hours and a Friend Pass for inviting friends; check the page for current availability and conditions.
