To complete “The Convoy” in Gears of War: E-Day (Act 3, Chapter 4), clear the bridge, lower it from the control room, escort the convoy, defeat the Reaver, clear the lower deck, and defend the upper control room. The chapter ends when Trench appears during the final defense and the cutscene begins. Here’s the objective-by-objective route, plus the reported collectible locations and the conflicting Hard Case counts.
How to complete The Convoy
The chapter’s progress gates are enemy encounters and two control consoles. Keep moving between cover during the bridge fights, and clear each area before looking for the next objective.

1. Clear the raised bridge
Advance from cover and prioritize the Locust operating the mounted miniguns on the second floor; their fire can pin your squad. Eliminate the remaining defenders. When the area is clear, the blue door opens.

Go through the blue door and activate the control console. Leave by the route you entered and fight off the counterattack. You can use the mounted minigun, but fire in short bursts because it overheats quickly.

3. Move the convoy and defeat the Reaver
Go down and speak to Tai to move the convoy. Follow the lead vehicle until it reaches a dead end and a Reaver attacks. Shoot the glowing weak points on the Reaver’s body until it is defeated; the encounter is the obstacle blocking the convoy’s progress.
4. Clear the lower deck
Once the bridge has finished lowering, use the opening on the left to drop to the lower deck. Eliminate the Locust there, then take the zipline back up to the upper deck.

5. Lower the barriers and hold the control room
Near the barbed wire, climb onto the small truck to reach the upper control room. Activate its console to lower the barriers, then defend the position against the final Locust wave. Trench’s appearance triggers the cutscene that ends the chapter and leads into “Desperate Times.”

Three collectibles are reported for this chapter by NightlyGamingBinge (2026), with the count also reported by GamersBeacon and TechWiser. The name of the final COG Tag varies between guides; the locations below follow the spelling used by NightlyGamingBinge and GamersBeacon.

Published guides disagree about both whether Hard Cases are present and how many there are. AllThingsHow says there are none, while NightlyGamingBinge lists six locations and Patch Crazy lists five. Treat the count as uncertain rather than assuming any one guide establishes a definitive total.

NightlyGamingBinge’s six reported landmarks are the convoy return, the left courtyard down the steps, beneath a military truck near the control room, on the bridge before the drop to the lower level, on crates along the lower deck, and inside the upper control room after climbing through the window. Patch Crazy corroborates several early-bridge and lower-deck locations, but gives a different total; its final tag entry also appears to misidentify Corporal Kevin Garbor as Rudy Bartholomew. These are guide-reported locations, not independently confirmed in-game.

What to remember during the mission
- Clear the bridge defenders to open the blue door, then use the first console to lower the bridge.
- At the convoy’s dead end, target the Reaver’s glowing weak points.
- After the bridge lowers, the route continues through the lower deck and back up by zipline.
- The second console lowers the barriers; hold the upper control room until Trench appears.
- Collectible guides agree on three chapter items, but published Hard Case totals conflict.
