The Cheap OLED TV You Wanted Sold Out? How to Find a Worthwhile Deal

If the OLED TV you planned to buy has sold out, don’t assume every OLED bargain is gone—or buy a different model just because it has a similar price. Check live stock, compare the same model and size across retailers, then weigh alternatives against your room, budget and must-have features.

First, check whether the deal is actually gone

A deal roundup is a snapshot, not a live inventory feed. The exact TV behind the sold-out recommendation is not identified here, so there’s no basis for naming a replacement as equivalent. Search the exact model number and screen size at more than one retailer, and confirm the seller, delivery cost and checkout price on the product page. Tom’s Guide deals editor-in-chief Louis Ramirez put the retailer issue plainly: “Unfortunately, there’s no single retailer that offers the best OLED TV deals.” Tom’s Guide’s OLED deal guide likewise recommends looking across retailers rather than assuming one store always wins.

What to compare when the original TV is unavailable

Match the model and screen size first

A 48-inch LG B6 is not the same product as a 48-inch Samsung S85H, and neither is the same size or model as a 55-inch LG B5. Compare the full model name and size before you compare prices; a lower figure may reflect a different TV, not a better price on the one you wanted.

For context, Tom’s Guide’s roundup updated 30 September 2026 listed the 48-inch LG B6 at Best Buy for $799 and the 48-inch Samsung S85H at Amazon for $997. These were US editorial listings in that dated guide, not verified live prices or stock. TechRadar’s 2026 US Prime Day coverage listed a 55-inch LG B5 at Amazon for $799.99. Those examples show why model and size matter; they do not establish that any is a direct substitute for the sold-out recommendation. Tom’s Guide · TechRadar

  • KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE BALL: The AI processor smooths the motion of fast-moving balls and text, reducing blur and flickering, so you don't lose sight of the action.*

Consider the room where you watch movies

OLED pixels emit their own light and can switch off individually, which helps produce deep blacks—an appealing trait for movie viewing, especially in a dim room. Brightness is a trade-off to consider: Tom’s Guide notes that QLED TVs can be brighter, so a very bright room or persistent glare may make a brighter alternative more practical. Don’t choose on the OLED label alone; think about your viewing conditions. Tom’s Guide

Check the features you will actually use

Before switching to another model, verify its screen size, smart platform, gaming features and HDR support on the specific retailer or manufacturer listing. The dated deal examples establish model, size, retailer and listed price, but do not establish a complete feature-by-feature comparison. Avoid assuming two TVs share features just because both are OLEDs.

Calculate the real price and terms

  • Compare the checkout total, including delivery and any other listed charges, rather than relying on a headline deal price.
  • Confirm that the listing is for the exact size and model, and check who is selling it.
  • If considering refurbished stock, read the warranty, return window and return-shipping terms on that listing. Tom’s Guide warns that refurbished savings may be smaller than expected and that some offers may include only a 90-day warranty; terms vary by seller and item. Tom’s Guide

Use regional deal examples as context, not current quotes

Prices in deal coverage are tied to a market and date. UK listings are not directly comparable with US-dollar offers, and neither should be treated as a current quote without checking the retailer.

Don’t rule out last year’s model—or assume it is a bargain

A previous-generation TV can be worth comparing with a newer launch, but age alone does not prove value. What Hi-Fi? used the LG C5 versus C6 as an example in its June 2026 UK deal guide: compare the actual prices and the features you care about rather than treating the newer model as automatically worth more. A quick decision checklist

  1. Search the exact model number and size at several retailers.
  2. Verify live stock, seller and checkout total; don’t rely on an older deal roundup.
  3. If it is unavailable, compare alternatives by model, screen size, room brightness and features you will use.
  4. For refurbished TVs, read the specific warranty and return terms before paying.
  5. Buy only when the current offer makes sense for your needs—not because a sale label or a sold-out listing creates urgency.

Individual deal listings can show that particular TVs were offered at particular prices; they do not establish that Prime Day has depleted OLED stock market-wide. Treat each listing as a lead to verify, not evidence that all cheap OLED options have disappeared.
