Current reporting says The Blood of Dawnwalker has no native way to respec skill points. A third-party guide updated October 6, 2026, reports that points spent at shrines remain spent for the playthrough. Bandai Namco’s official skills bulletin explains how progression works but does not explicitly confirm whether respec is unavailable, so treat the no-reset answer as the best-supported current report rather than a direct publisher confirmation.
Can you reset skill points in The Blood of Dawnwalker?
According to The Blood of Dawnwalker Wiki team’s guide, updated October 6, 2026, there is no native skill-point reset, and points spent at shrines stay spent for that playthrough. Bandai Namco’s Community Bulletin Board #11 – Skills & Power, published August 31, 2026, describes skill-point allocation but does not directly address resetting points. The distinction matters: the current answer is supported by secondary reporting, not an explicit publisher statement.

Why skill choices matter
One shared pool serves all skill trees
Bandai Namco says Coen earns skill points as accumulated XP raises his level. The points are shared across the skill trees, rather than restricted to the tree associated with how they were earned. The bulletin puts it this way: “Yes, there is one “shared” experience bar and one type of skill points to earn. You can use them in all skill trees, and assign them as you see fit.”

Skill points are not the only progression requirement. Swordmastery abilities use manuals found in the world or bought from fencers. Witchcraft manuals can be found in places such as ruins or haunted locations, or obtained from practitioners. Vampirism progression is tied to increasing corruption by feeding. The publisher’s overview describes these systems, but they do not establish whether a reset is possible.
#1 Best Overall
- Day 1 Edition includes the Base Game Disc, Steelbook, and World Map.
- Make The Story Your Own - Experience and shape the plot the way you want. Embark on the quest to save your family, or swear revenge on your sire and destroy everyone standing in your way. Discover ancient secrets lurking in the valley. Rush in head first or risk taking time to prepare. Go alone or search for friends and forge unlikely alliances.
- Day And Night - Experience two different gameplay loops, offering distinct abilities to choose from, mysteries to uncover, and varying ways to achieve your goals. Experiment with different approaches and discover how the world reacts to your actions.
- Every Action Matters - Every action - and inaction - shapes the world around you. Your family’s days are numbered, and every time you take on a quest, time moves forward, compelling you closer to the end. Choose carefully whom to help and whom to leave behind. You will not have time for everyone. The world waits for no one. And neither does the villain.
What to do if you regret a skill choice
- Check the current game menus and official updates. The available guide reports no native reset, but Bandai Namco’s skills bulletin does not settle the question. Check the live build and current official patch notes in case the feature has changed.
- Reload an earlier save, if you have one. This is an ordinary save-management fallback, not a confirmed in-game respec mechanic.
- On PC, investigate community mods cautiously. A Nexus Mods listing titled “Respec Your Skills at The Blood of Dawnwalker Nexus – Mods and community” advertises a respec option. It is unofficial; the listing alone does not establish compatibility with the current game version, safe save behavior, installation requirements, or support for a particular setup.
- Otherwise, continue with your current allocation. The official bulletin confirms that the shared pool can be spent across skill trees, but it does not give a reset path.
The game’s official page lists PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The cited mod listing is on Nexus Mods, but its existence does not establish a console equivalent or console support.
