The strongest options for a smokeless fire pit right now are the Solo Stove Bonfire 2.0, the Solo Stove Yukon, the Breeo X Series and the Breeo Y Series. Each has enough published detail to compare on size, capacity, portability and intended use.
This is not a five-model ranking based on user votes. The sources we reviewed did not provide comparable user-review ratings and counts across brands, so the list is a comparison informed by manufacturer specifications and product claims, plus two independent reviews of the Bonfire 2.0. We have not tested these pits ourselves, and the figures below are attributed to whoever published them.

What “smokeless” means in practice
“Smokeless” is marketing shorthand for reduced smoke. It does not mean a fire produces no smoke under all conditions. Tom’s Guide, in its 2026 fire pit guide, reported very little smoke from the Bonfire 2.0 it tested, using the same wood and starting technique across each pit in its comparison. Ideal Home, in a 2025 long-term update covering about two years of use, reported that wind affected the Bonfire’s performance. Expect less smoke than an open pit, and expect wind direction to matter.

The four models
Solo Stove Bonfire 2.0
Solo Stove describes the Bonfire as a 19.5-inch pit for four to six people, aimed at backyard use and portability. Tom’s Guide measured a slightly smaller external diameter of 19 inches on its test unit, which is consistent with a manufacturer figure taken at a different point on the body. Its 23.3-pound weight makes it a practical choice if you move the pit around a patio or lawn. Tom’s Guide also found that the removable ash pan and ash tray made it the easiest to clean among the pits it tested. Those are that publication’s observations, not a universal result.

The Bonfire 2.0 suits a small yard, a couple or a small family. Groups of six at the upper end of the stated range will sit closer to the fire, and the sources do not describe seating comfort at that size.
Solo Stove Yukon
The Yukon is Solo Stove’s 27-inch model, which the company positions as a backyard centerpiece for six to eight people. It is the better choice when group size is the main concern. The trade-off is portability: a pit this size is harder to move, store and carry than the Bonfire, so decide whether it will stay in one place before buying. Solo Stove lists compatible covers and cooking items for its products; confirm that an accessory is listed for the exact Yukon model you own before purchasing.

Breeo X Series
The X Series is Breeo’s line for hosting and cooking. Its current collection lists four sizes: the X19 at 22 inches, the X24 at 27.5 inches, the X30 at 34.5 inches and the X42 at 46 inches, all as outside diameters. Breeo calls the X24 its bestseller and describes the line as a centerpiece and live-fire cooking platform. Its X Series user guide says the line is compatible with the Outpost system, which is the most relevant accessory path if you plan to cook over the fire. Breeo says the X Series better suits people focused on hosting and cooking at home than the Y Series does.

The X19 is the smallest option in the line and the most comparable in footprint to the Bonfire. The X42 is a large centerpiece that will need a deliberate spot in the yard.

Breeo Y Series
Breeo describes the Y Series as portable and adjustable, with three height settings and compatibility with cooking accessories. The company positions it for car camping and smaller outdoor spaces. Those are manufacturer characterizations, and the sources we reviewed did not give Y Series dimensions or weight, so check the product page for those figures before you decide.

- Cooking: If you want to cook over the fire, prioritise the X Series and its Outpost compatibility, and confirm the specific accessory fits your size.
- Surface setup: Plan the spot before buying. Breeo advises against placing its pits directly on heat-sensitive surfaces, so you may need a non-combustible base.
- Storage: Measure your storage space against the diameter and height figures for the model you are considering.
- Maintenance: Check how the ash is removed. The Bonfire’s removable ash pan and tray is the feature Tom’s Guide singled out.
Setup, maintenance and safety
- Follow the manual for your exact model and the fire rules that apply where you live. Some areas restrict open fires in dry weather.
- Keep the pit off heat-sensitive surfaces, as Breeo advises for its X Series.
- Keep pets and children away while the pit is hot. An Ideal Home reviewer reported that the reviewer’s dog nearly touched the hot Bonfire; this is one reviewer’s experience, not a test result, but it shows how quickly a hot pit can become a hazard.
- Plan the placement around wind. Ideal Home reported that wind affected the Bonfire’s smoke performance during its review.
- Before buying any cover, stand, spark shield or cooking accessory, confirm it is listed for your exact model.
- Clean out the ash once it has fully cooled, using whichever ash removal method your model provides.
