They offer three distinct kinds of stealth: survival-horror evasion, flexible covert-agent missions, and turn-based infiltration. Prey is a worthwhile adjacent pick if exploration and systemic sci-fi matter more than stealth as the defining feature.
Which sci-fi stealth game should you play first?
The best fit depends on what you mean by “stealth.” These games share a science-fiction backdrop, but they ask you to avoid detection in very different ways. PlayStation’s official stealth-games guide groups Alien: Isolation, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, and Invisible, Inc. under “Slick science fiction,” describing the overlap between their settings and stealth play.

| Game | Stealth format | Tone | Choose it if… |
|---|---|---|---|
| Alien: Isolation | Real-time evasion and distraction | Space-station survival horror | You want to feel vulnerable while a creature hunts you. |
| Deus Ex: Mankind Divided | Flexible mission infiltration, with lethal or non-lethal approaches | Cyberpunk, covert-agent drama, and social conflict | You want options for how to handle objectives and enemies. |
| Invisible, Inc. | Turn-based tactical infiltration | Near-future corporate espionage | You prefer planning moves and adapting to a changing situation. |
| Prey (2017) | Not established here as a stealth-first game | Science-fiction exploration and immersive-sim design | You want an adjacent sci-fi experience and are comfortable with a looser stealth fit. |
Alien: Isolation is the pick for tense space-station evasion
In Alien: Isolation, Amanda Ripley searches the Sevastopol space station while a creature stalks its inhabitants. PlayStation describes quiet movement, scavenged supplies, and crafted distractions or repellents. The appeal is vulnerability and evasion, not a heavily armed soldier’s toolkit.
Choose it if you want claustrophobic, lived-in science fiction and can handle survival-horror tension. It is the closest match here for a story shaped by the danger of being found rather than the power to clear a room. SEGA identifies Alien: Isolation as game software and names PS4 and Xbox One on its official game page.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided offers covert-agent flexibility
Set in 2029, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided follows mechanically augmented people living amid segregation and social conflict. Adam Jensen works as an elite covert agent, and PlayStation’s description highlights stealth, non-lethal equipment, deadly force, and consequences for player actions.
Pick it if you want missions with room to choose how you infiltrate and engage, alongside near-future technology and cyberpunk themes. Unlike Alien: Isolation, its appeal is not chiefly helpless evasion: it gives you a broader covert-agent role.

Invisible, Inc. turns infiltration into a planning problem
Invisible, Inc. is a near-future corporate-espionage game built around turn-based decisions. PlayStation describes randomly generated layouts, ten agents, and locations, threats, and loot that change between runs.

Prey (2017) is an adjacent sci-fi recommendation
Prey fits readers drawn to science-fiction exploration and immersive-sim choices, but the available descriptions do not establish stealth as its defining feature. Treat it as a broader neighboring recommendation rather than a core stealth pick.
GamesRadar’s sci-fi games guide lists a May 5, 2017 release date, PC, PS4, and Xbox One platforms, and Arkane Studios as developer. Its inclusion is for the science-fiction and choice-driven appeal, not a claim that it plays like a dedicated stealth game.

What the title’s comparison does—and does not—mean
“The Expanse meets Metal Gear Solid” is a useful shorthand for a reader looking for space-age or near-future settings combined with covert movement and avoiding detection. It does not indicate an official connection: none of the recommended games is established here as affiliated with either franchise.
PlayStation’s guide captures the genre appeal this way: “Subvert the power of the technological age in high-concept sci-fi realities where going unnoticed is harder than ever.” That description suits the shared premise, while the games themselves range from horror evasion to tactical planning.

Check platform and edition before buying
Platform information is not complete for every core recommendation here, and availability can depend on storefront, region, and edition. Confirm the current listing on the platform you use before purchase. The platform details above for Prey come from GamesRadar’s cited guide; SEGA’s page names PS4 and Xbox One for Alien: Isolation.
For a current science-fiction game that is not yet a substantiated stealth recommendation, EXODUS is officially described as an upcoming sci-fi action-adventure RPG on its official site. That description alone is not enough to include it among stealth picks.
