Player ratings, potential and estimated fees below are guide or database snapshots dated September 2026, not guaranteed outcomes in every save. EA said its FC 27 database was live and contained over 21,000 players; use the EA SPORTS FC ratings database to check current identities and ratings. A player’s transfer price and development in your save can differ.

How to choose the right signing
Do not rank prospects by potential alone. The useful question is whether a player fits your squad now and whether your save can support his development. TheSpike says FC 27 development responds to save events such as performance, form, morale, fitness and opportunity.

- Current overall rating: How much help can the player provide immediately?
- Potential and growth gap: Is the player already near first-team level, or a longer-term project?
- Age and position: Does he fill a real role in your formation?
- Estimated cost: Can your budget absorb the fee and negotiation context?
- Path to minutes: Can you actually play him often enough to make the signing useful?
Best young signings for immediate impact
TheSpike’s September 25, 2026 guide reports the following overall ratings and potential figures. They are guide-reported values, not a promise of how a player will progress in an individual save.

Yamal is a premium target, not a hidden bargain: his reported 89 OVR makes him useful now, and the 95 potential is an additional reason to sign him if the fee and squad role make sense. Neves and Cubarsí address different positions, while Doué offers another route to a young attacking option.
High-upside prospects who need a development plan
These players have lower reported current ratings than the immediate-impact group, but the September 25 guide lists substantial potential. They make more sense when you have a clear role, patience and a credible route to appearances.

Other large growth-gap names in the same guide include Florian Hellstern (66/86), Jorthy Mokio (71/87), Geovany Quenda (71/88), Gilberto Mora (74/87), Kees Smit (75/87), Joaquin Seys (74/87) and Finn Jeltsch (76/87). Those figures are OVR/potential; check each player’s position and role against your own squad before treating a high gap as a reason to buy.
Lower-cost examples and why transfer estimates differ
Two guides provide useful budget examples, but their figures should not be blended into a single price list: they use different snapshots and do not agree on every player.

The Mokio estimates are not interchangeable: one guide gives a dollar starting transfer cost, while FCCareer reports a euro value from a separately dated database article. FCCareer also notes its public EA export omits potential, market value and contract fields, with some fields carried over from the prior edition pending FC 27 figures. Treat these amounts as source-specific estimates, not guaranteed fees or direct currency comparisons. Actual negotiations and save context matter.
When to buy an elite U23 player instead
FCCareer contrasts expensive, already elite U23 options such as Jude Bellingham, Florian Wirtz, Pedri and Lamine Yamal with lower-rated prospects. The trade-off is straightforward: an established high-rated player can address an immediate weakness, while a prospect usually asks for more patience and a dependable route to playing time. The database article frames the choice but does not establish a synchronized set of fees for those elite names, so compare current in-game availability and your own budget rather than assuming a fixed price.

How to make potential count in your save
Dynamic OVR, Dynamic Potential and Growth Profiles make development responsive to events in the save, according to TheSpike’s guide. That makes potential a sorting signal—not a guaranteed final rating. Before signing a young player, identify where he will play, what role he can fill and how he will get minutes without blocking a more important squad need. If you cannot offer a credible opportunity, a lower-rated prospect’s theoretical ceiling may not help your team.

How to verify candidates before negotiating
- Check the current FC 27 ratings database from EA for the player’s identity and rating rather than assuming a third-party snapshot is current.
- Compare the player’s position and rating with the gap in your squad; decide whether you need a starter, rotation option or development project.
- Use published fee figures only as estimates. Check the transfer terms offered in your save, where negotiations and context can change the cost.
- Before completing a prospect signing, make a realistic plan for appearances and development opportunities in your squad.
