The title doesn’t identify which Konami classic you’ve finished, so there’s no sound way to rank Nintendo DS games by how closely they match it. Instead, choose by the experience you want next: Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow for side-scrolling action, The World Ends With You for unusual touch-led RPG combat, or Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective for a story-driven puzzle mystery.
Choose by the kind of game you want next
| Game | Best fit | What you’ll do |
|---|---|---|
| Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow | 2D action and enemy-derived abilities | Explore a side-scrolling adventure, fight enemies, collect their souls, and use those souls to gain attacks. |
| The World Ends With You | Distinctive, touch-led RPG combat | Control Neku in a Tokyo-set story, fighting across both DS screens with stylus motions or microphone commands. |
| Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective | Narrative mystery and logic puzzles | Play as a murdered amnesiac ghost who possesses and manipulates objects to investigate and avert deaths. |
These are choices by play style, not verified matches for the unidentified Konami game. Nintendo’s listings and announcement describe the games’ features, but do not establish which one is most similar to the classic you finished.

For 2D action: Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
If the Konami classic you have in mind is Castlevania, or you simply want another 2D action adventure, Dawn of Sorrow is the most directly relevant option here. Nintendo’s UK listing describes Soma Cruz infiltrating a cult’s base, battling enemies and collecting their souls to gain new attacks. Nintendo lists Konami as both publisher and developer, and gives the Nintendo DS release date as 29 September 2005. The listing identifies the physical version as a Nintendo DS Game Card. Nintendo’s Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow listing.
The game’s Nintendo listing also describes item swapping through the DS’s wireless capability. That is a historical feature description, not confirmation that the service is available today; check current service status before relying on any online function.

For a puzzle-led mystery: Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective
Choose Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective if the appeal of your next game is a clever premise and investigation rather than combat. Sissel is a murdered amnesiac who returns as a ghost; by possessing and manipulating objects, he investigates what happened and tries to avert deaths. Nintendo’s 2010 UK announcement says the game was created by Shu Takumi, creator of the Ace Attorney series, and scheduled its European DS release for 14 January 2011. Nintendo’s announcement of Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective.
Its connection to Ace Attorney’s creator is useful context for readers looking for a narrative-focused alternative; it does not establish that the game resembles the unnamed Konami classic.
