For everyday wear, start with Nike’s P-6000 if you want a retro runner with clearly documented construction and a direct link to the Air Pegasus line. It has a breathable mesh or textile upper, synthetic leather overlays, a foam midsole and a rubber outsole. That makes it a well-documented option to compare—not a proven winner for comfort, fit or running.
Nike’s US “Retro Running Lifestyle” category also lists the Zoom Vomero 5, V5 RNR, Air Pegasus 2005 and V2K Run. The category is a useful shortlist, but Nike’s listings alone do not establish which shoe feels best on foot or suits regular running.

Which Nike retro runners should you consider?
Nike currently groups several models under its US “Retro Running Lifestyle” category, which is labeled for both Lifestyle and Running. The available assortment can change, so treat these as candidates to compare rather than a fixed ranking.
| Model | What the available evidence establishes | What to verify before buying |
|---|---|---|
| P-6000 | Nike says it draws on the 2006 Air Pegasus and early-2000s running style. Its listing describes mesh or textile, synthetic leather overlays, a foam midsole and a rubber outsole. | Fit in your size, colorway availability and current price; there is no comparative comfort or durability test here. |
| Zoom Vomero 5 | Listed in Nike’s US Retro Running Lifestyle category. | Materials, cushioning, outsole details, fit, price and suitability for regular running are not established by the category listing. |
| V5 RNR | Listed in Nike’s US Retro Running Lifestyle category. | Materials, cushioning, outsole details, fit, price and suitability for regular running are not established by the category listing. |
| Air Pegasus 2005 | Listed in Nike’s US Retro Running Lifestyle category. | Materials, cushioning, outsole details, fit, price and suitability for regular running are not established by the category listing. |
| V2K Run | Listed in Nike’s US Retro Running Lifestyle category. | Materials, cushioning, outsole details, fit, price and suitability for regular running are not established by the category listing. |
These models are retro-running-inspired lifestyle options in Nike’s current US assortment, not a verified set of equivalent running shoes. If you plan to train in a pair regularly, check the specific model’s current running guidance and technical details rather than relying on the category label.

Why the P-6000 is the clearest starting point
The P-6000 has a specific design connection: Nike says it takes cues from the 2006 Nike Air Pegasus, with inspiration from Pegasus 25 and Pegasus 2006. The construction Nike lists—breathable mesh or textiles, synthetic leather overlays, foam cushioning and a rubber outsole—gives shoppers concrete details to assess for casual daily use.
Those features describe materials and construction, not a measured comfort result. Breathable textiles do not guarantee a cool fit for every wearer, and a foam midsole does not establish how soft or supportive the shoe will feel. Try the shoe if possible, or check the seller’s size and return terms before ordering.

How to choose for daily wear
Match the shoe to the job
For commuting, errands and general casual wear, compare style, fit and the construction details available on the exact product page. If sustained running is part of the plan, look for model-specific running information; the lifestyle category and its retro styling do not prove running suitability.

For the P-6000, Nike identifies the upper materials, foam midsole and rubber outsole. For other category models, the category itself does not provide equivalent details. Open the exact model and colorway listing to confirm what it uses rather than assuming the construction is shared across Nike’s retro runners.

- C-CAP midsole cushioning delivers durable support
- Split suede and mesh upper for a comfortable feel
- Adjustable lace closure for customized fit
- Low-profile court silhouette for easy wear and style
Use fit evidence carefully
The available Nike category and product information does not establish a best-fitting model or a sizing recommendation across these shoes. Use size guidance for the exact product, account for your own fit preferences, and avoid treating one model’s fit as a guide to another.
Recheck the exact listing and price
At the time captured, Nike’s US category showed different prices among models, and one P-6000 product page displayed $115. These are time-sensitive listing snapshots, not guaranteed current prices. Confirm the price, available size and colorway on the product page before purchase.

What the Pegasus connection does—and does not—tell you
Nike’s company history says Pegasus sales had reached 2.5 million pairs by 1985. That is a historical milestone, not a present-day sales figure or evidence that today’s P-6000 is more popular or better than its alternatives.
Nike also attributes a favorable recollection of the Pegasus ’89 to former Nike Running leader Kevin Paulk: “If you asked loyal Pegasus wearers through the years what their favourite version has been, I would be willing to bet a lot of people would say the Peg ’89. It had a nice soft upper and fit like a glove”. The comment is about the ’89 and should not be read as a review of the P-6000.
