The best GuliKit TT Max settings for motion controls, turbo, and back buttons

The best all-purpose TT MAX setup is conservative: use NS mode with in-game gyro on Switch, medium motion-aim assist on PC, 100% stick sensitivity, and map G1–G4 to ordinary actions you press frequently. Use normal continuous-fire turbo for hold-to-repeat actions and auto continuous fire only when a toggle is useful. Adjust dead zones only when you have a specific drift or snapback symptom, then calibrate the sticks if the problem remains.

Recommended TT MAX settings at a glance

Use case Mode or feature Starting setting Why
Switch or Switch 2 motion games NS mode and gyro Enable gyro in the game The TT series supports six-axis gyro operation on Switch 1 and Switch 2.
PC first-person shooters Motion-aim assist Medium; activate with Settings + L or Settings + ZL Medium gives a useful balance between correction speed and over-aiming. The L shortcut activates while held; ZL is the trigger-held alternative.
Hold-to-repeat action Turbo Normal continuous fire Repeating input stops as soon as you release the button.
Toggle-style repeating action Turbo Auto continuous fire One press starts repetition and the next press stops it.
Everyday stick control Joystick sensitivity 100% (default) It preserves the intended balance of travel and precision before you tune for a particular game.
Rear controls G1–G4 mapping Jump, reload, crouch, interact or other normal key functions These buttons are most useful for actions that otherwise require removing a thumb from a stick.

The controller supports Switch, Switch 2, PC, Android and iOS, with four metal rear paddles and APG functionality listed by GuliKit. Exact behavior can vary by platform and firmware, so confirm that the controller is in the correct connection mode before changing settings.

Set up motion controls on Switch and Switch 2

1. Select NS mode

Put the controller in its NS connection mode before pairing it with a Switch console. The TT-series documentation lists six-axis gyro support for both the original Switch and Switch 2. A game cannot read motion input correctly if the controller is paired in the wrong mode, even if ordinary buttons work.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

2. Turn on gyro in the game

Open the game’s controller or motion settings and enable gyro aiming. The TT MAX supplies the motion data, but the game decides whether to use it. If the game offers separate options for motion while aiming, motion sensitivity and inversion, begin with its middle sensitivity value and adjust only after confirming that movement is detected.

  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

3. Keep the first test simple

  1. Stand the controller in a neutral position and enter a practice area or camera-control screen.
  2. Move the controller slowly left and right. The reticle or camera should follow without a large jump when you stop.
  3. Make a small correction with the stick, then a small correction with motion. If one input overwhelms the other, lower the game’s gyro sensitivity before changing hardware sensitivity.
  4. Save the game profile only after you can repeat the same movement several times without drift.

Do not calibrate a normally working gyro just because you changed a game sensitivity slider. Calibration is intended for abnormal gyro behavior, not for routine preference tuning.

Configure PC FPS motion aiming

Start at medium assist

The TT MAX manual provides low, medium and high motion-aim assist levels, with motion assist disabled by default. Medium is the best starting point for a PC first-person shooter because it gives visible correction without the abrupt response that can make a small wrist movement overshoot a target. Leave assist disabled if a game already applies its own gyro filtering or if you prefer raw motion input.

Choose how assist engages

You can make assist active only while aiming instead of applying it constantly:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Settings + L: hold Settings and L to use gyro assist while L is held.
  • Settings + ZL: hold Settings and ZL for trigger-held activation.

Use the shortcut that matches the game’s aiming control. If L is your aim button, L-held activation keeps assist out of menus and ordinary movement. If ZL is the trigger used to aim, the ZL option avoids changing your normal button layout.

Adjust in a controlled order

  1. Set the game’s gyro sensitivity to its middle value and select medium TT MAX assist.
  2. Test a slow target track while holding your chosen activation button.
  3. If the reticle lags behind your hand, raise the game sensitivity first.
  4. If the reticle jumps past the target, lower the game sensitivity or switch to low assist.
  5. Try high assist only when low and medium cannot provide enough correction and the game’s own filtering is not causing the problem.

The controller’s assist level and the game’s sensitivity multiply one another. Changing both at once makes it difficult to identify which setting caused an improvement or a new problem.

Turn turbo on without creating an unwanted toggle

Turbo has two operating styles. Select the style based on how you want the repeated input to stop, not on how fast you want it to fire.

Normal continuous fire

Use normal continuous fire when the action should repeat only while you hold the assigned button. This is the safer choice for a weapon, menu action or game mechanic that must stop immediately when you release the control.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Auto continuous fire

Use auto continuous fire when one press should start repetition and a second press should stop it. This is useful when you need to maintain a repeated input without holding the button, but it can continue in the background if you forget that it is active.

Assign a turbo target

  1. Hold the controller’s Settings button.
  2. While holding Settings, press the button you want to repeat.
  3. Release the buttons after the controller confirms the selection with its vibration feedback.
  4. Test the target in a safe menu or practice area before using it in a live match or a save-sensitive screen.

The manual describes a long-vibration cancel command for removing a turbo setting. Use that cancel procedure when a button begins repeating unexpectedly or when you want to clear the assignment before creating another one. Do not confuse the short confirmation vibration used for other mappings with the long vibration used to cancel.

Turbo cautions

  • Auto continuous fire remains active until you stop it, so check the controller before opening a menu or launching a game.
  • Turbo is separate from the rear-button mapping system. A rear paddle can trigger a normal key function, but it cannot carry a continuous-fire function.
  • If repetition stops when you release the button, normal continuous fire is active; if it continues, switch it off with the next press or use the documented cancel command.

Map G1–G4 rear buttons

The four metal rear controls are most valuable when they remove a frequent action from the face buttons while your thumbs stay on the sticks. Good first assignments are jump, reload, crouch and interact. Choose actions you press many times per minute rather than rare commands.

Mapping procedure

  1. Hold Settings until the controller enters the short-vibration mapping state.
  2. Press the rear button you want to configure: G1, G2, G3 or G4.
  3. Press the source button that the rear control should copy.
  4. Release the controls and test the paddle in the game’s input screen or a low-risk area.
  5. Repeat the procedure for each remaining rear button.

The manual’s limitation is explicit: “The back buttons can only map to have normal key function and do not support Continuous Fire feature.” In practical terms, G1–G4 can copy an ordinary button command, but they cannot be used as turbo toggles or as a way to hold a repeating input automatically.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Choose a layout that remains memorable

Rear button Common assignment When it helps
G1 Jump Lets you jump while keeping the right thumb on the camera stick.
G2 Crouch or slide Allows movement and camera control during a crouch transition.
G3 Reload Keeps the aiming thumb in place during a reload.
G4 Interact or use Useful for doors, pickups and context actions that occur frequently.

The table is a starting layout, not a requirement. In a game with an unusual control scheme, copy the command that causes the most thumb travel or the most missed timing. Avoid mapping several rear buttons to similar actions until you can identify each paddle by touch.

Set joystick sensitivity for precision or speed

The manual provides three per-stick sensitivity levels: 50%, 100% and 150%. The default is 100%.

Level Best use Trade-off
50% Steady micro-aim, slow camera work or menus where small movement matters Requires more physical stick travel for a large turn.
100% General play and initial setup Neither the slowest nor fastest response.
150% Large camera turns, fast navigation or games that feel sluggish at the default Small thumb movements produce larger on-screen movement and can make fine aim harder.

Set the left and right sticks independently if the game uses them differently. A common approach is 100% on the movement stick and 50% on the camera stick for a precision-heavy shooter. Use 150% on the camera stick only when you can stop the reticle reliably after a quick turn.

Why motion aim may feel too sensitive

Motion and stick sensitivity are separate controls, so lowering stick sensitivity will not necessarily fix a gyro that feels too fast. For excessive motion response, lower the game’s gyro sensitivity or change PC assist from high to medium or low. Keep the controller at 100% stick sensitivity while diagnosing gyro behavior so that two variables do not mask each other.

Handle drift, snapback and dead zones

The TT MAX manual documents three relevant joystick states: a normal dead-zone mode, an anti-snapback mode used with a dead zone, and a no-dead-zone default. Dead zones can hide unwanted movement, but they also remove a small amount of fine input. Use the smallest intervention that removes the symptom.

Choose the least aggressive correction

  • No-dead-zone default: keep this when the stick rests accurately and you want maximum fine movement.
  • Dead-zone mode: try this when the on-screen character or camera moves while the stick is untouched.
  • Anti-snapback with dead zone: try this when the stick returns from a quick direction change and the camera briefly jumps or reverses.

Test one mode at a time. If a dead zone fixes drift but makes slow aiming feel notchy, reduce the game’s own dead-zone value if it offers one, or return to the default hardware mode and recalibrate the sticks.

Calibrate the sticks and gyro

Stick calibration

Use the documented stick calibration sequence when the sticks do not center correctly after checking sensitivity and dead-zone settings:

  1. Hold L + R + D-pad Left + A for six seconds.
  2. When the controller enters calibration, rotate both sticks through full circles two or three times.
  3. Release the controls and return the sticks to their natural center.
  4. Test for drift and verify that a full stick movement reaches the expected edge of the game’s input range.

Do not press the sticks against their mechanical limits during the circles. Smooth, complete rotations give the controller a more representative range than short or hesitant movements.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

PC gyro calibration

Gyro calibration is not necessary when gyro operation is normal. If the motion direction is consistently offset or the controller behaves as though it is tilted while lying flat, place the controller flat and hold + + – + D-pad Left + A. Keep it still during the calibration command, then test motion again.

When calibration is not the answer

Calibration cannot correct a wrong connection mode, a game with gyro disabled, or an assist level that is simply too aggressive. Check those settings first. If the controller works normally over USB but not wirelessly, verify the selected platform mode and firmware before repeating calibration.

Check firmware and platform compatibility

GuliKit’s current official download listing identifies TT PRO / TT MAX V7.9.05 firmware — 2026-10-12. Check the installed firmware before diagnosing a settings problem, because firmware can change how modes, calibration and input features behave.

TT MAX is listed as compatible with Switch, Switch 2, PC, Android and iOS. The six-axis gyro feature is specifically documented for Switch 1 and Switch 2, while PC motion-aim behavior depends on the game and the controller’s PC configuration. If a feature is missing on a phone or tablet, first confirm that the app supports controller gyro input; ordinary button compatibility does not guarantee motion support.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Firmware update checklist

  • Record your current sensitivity, turbo and rear-button assignments before updating.
  • Use the official TT PRO / TT MAX download entry and verify that the package is intended for your model.
  • Keep the controller connected as instructed during the update and do not interrupt power.
  • After updating, verify NS or PC mode, then retest gyro, turbo and rear buttons separately.
  • Reapply calibration only if the controller shows an actual centering or motion error.

Troubleshoot the most common symptoms

Symptom Likely setting Fix
Motion aiming is too sensitive Game gyro sensitivity or PC assist is too high Lower the game’s gyro value, then use medium or low assist. Do not start by changing stick sensitivity.
Motion input does nothing on Switch Wrong controller mode or gyro disabled in the game Reconnect in NS mode and enable gyro in the game’s controller settings.
Camera moves while the stick is untouched Center drift or insufficient dead zone Try the smallest dead-zone setting, then run the six-second stick calibration.
Camera jumps when releasing the stick Snapback Use anti-snapback mode with dead zone, then test again.
Rear paddle does not repeat an input Expected limitation Map G1–G4 only to normal key functions; continuous fire is not supported on rear buttons.
Turbo keeps running after release Auto continuous fire is active Press the assigned button again to stop the toggle, or use the long-vibration cancel command to remove the setting.
Controller turns off during a pause Inactivity timer The controller powers off after 15 minutes without activity. USB connection and active auto continuous fire prevent that automatic shutdown.
Settings changed but behavior is unchanged Wrong platform mode, firmware or target button Confirm the connection mode and firmware, then repeat the assignment while watching for the expected vibration confirmation.

Practical profiles for different games

Switch motion-aim profile

  • NS mode.
  • Gyro enabled in the game.
  • Both sticks at 100% initially.
  • No-dead-zone default unless drift appears.
  • G1 jump, G2 crouch or slide, G3 reload and G4 interact when those actions are frequent.

This profile keeps hardware changes minimal and lets the game’s own motion settings do the tuning.

PC competitive shooter profile

  • Medium motion-aim assist.
  • Settings + L while aiming, or Settings + ZL if the trigger is your preferred activation.
  • 50% camera-stick sensitivity for deliberate micro-aim; return to 100% if turning feels slow.
  • Anti-snapback with dead zone only if a release jump is reproducible.
  • Rear buttons assigned to jump, crouch, reload and interact so the camera stick remains under your thumb.

Hands-off repeating-input profile

  • Auto continuous fire on the specific ordinary button that needs repetition.
  • Confirm the start and stop presses before entering a live game.
  • Do not assign the same task to a rear paddle expecting turbo behavior.
  • Remember that auto continuous fire keeps the controller awake, unlike ordinary inactivity.

Power behavior and safe shutdown habits

The TT MAX automatically powers off after 15 minutes of inactivity. It remains on while connected by USB or while auto continuous fire is active. This explains why a controller may stay powered on during a long repeating-input session but shut down during an unrelated pause.

Before storing the controller, stop auto continuous fire and disconnect USB if you want the inactivity timer to take effect. If the controller powers down while you are actively using it, check the cable, wireless mode and firmware rather than assuming the 15-minute timer is responsible.

A repeatable setup order

  1. Update or verify TT PRO / TT MAX firmware V7.9.05, listed by GuliKit on 2026-10-12.
  2. Select the correct platform mode: NS for Switch or Switch 2, and the appropriate PC mode for computer play.
  3. Enable gyro in the game when using motion controls.
  4. Set motion assist to medium on PC, or leave assist off if the game already provides suitable filtering.
  5. Set both sticks to 100% and leave the default no-dead-zone state in place.
  6. Play a short test section and change only one control at a time.
  7. Map G1–G4 to normal, high-frequency actions after the basic controls feel stable.
  8. Add normal or auto continuous fire only to the button that truly needs it, then test the stop behavior.
  9. Calibrate sticks or gyro only when a repeatable centering or motion fault remains.

This order separates compatibility, game settings and controller adjustments. It prevents a sensitivity change, a turbo assignment and a calibration command from obscuring the original problem.
