VITURE Pro 2 is the strongest all-round choice for prescription wearers who want AR glasses that work as a private monitor. It combines adjustable myopia dials, a documented magnetic prescription frame, a high-refresh Micro-OLED display and explicit long-session guidance. Choose XREAL One Pro instead if spatial anchoring and very low motion latency matter more than built-in prescription adjustment. XREAL Air 2 is the simpler insert-based option, while Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 belongs in a separate AI, camera and audio category rather than a virtual-monitor comparison.
No pair should be assumed to provide unlimited all-day wear. VITURE publishes a suggested wearing time of three to four hours, and every wearer still needs a prescription that matches the actual optics, careful fit adjustment and regular visual breaks.

Which prescription AR glasses should you buy?
The right choice depends first on what you mean by “AR glasses.” Display-first XR glasses create a large virtual screen in front of you and normally need a phone, computer, handheld or console to supply video. AI camera glasses, by contrast, can capture photos, play audio and provide assistant features without presenting a transparent monitor. The models in this guide are not interchangeable.

Optical sharpness and edge clarity are not directly comparable from the published figures alone. The cited specifications do not provide a standardized edge-to-edge resolution test, distortion chart or independent comfort measurement. Your prescription accuracy, lens centering, nose-pad position and the way the glasses sit on your face can change the usable sharp area more than a headline specification.

How prescription support works
Built-in diopter adjustment
VITURE Pro 2 has two physical dials, one for each eye, covering 0 to −5.0D. This can correct a substantial amount of myopia without an additional insert. The separate adjustment is useful when your eyes have different prescriptions because each side can be set independently. It does not automatically correct every prescription component: the published range does not replace custom lenses for astigmatism, prism, higher myopia, hyperopia or other measurements that your optometrist may prescribe.
Custom prescription frames and inserts
VITURE documents a magnetic prescription frame for its Pro and One series. The frame is listed at 7.5 g and is made with your prescription by an optical provider. XREAL takes the custom-lens route for One Pro through professional optical partners. For Air 2, you can order lenses through Lensology or Rochester Optical, or give the supplied insert to a local optical store so it can make lenses to your prescription.
An insert is not the same as wearing your everyday spectacles behind the XR glasses. Stacking frames can create pressure, reduce the eye relief available to the display and make alignment less stable. If you need custom lenses, provide the optical provider with the exact frame or insert model, your full prescription and pupillary-distance measurements. Ask whether the provider needs monocular PD, cylinder axis and segment-height data rather than assuming a single PD is sufficient.

What to verify before ordering
- Confirm that your prescription falls inside the product’s published range or that a custom frame is available for your region.
- Check whether your prescription includes astigmatism, prism or a positive correction that built-in myopia dials cannot provide.
- Use the glasses’ own nose pads and temple adjustment to center each display before judging clarity.
- Ask the optical provider whether the finished lens will preserve the insert’s magnetic or mechanical attachment.
- Keep a current copy of your prescription; regional lens services can have different ordering limits and turnaround times.
VITURE Pro 2: the best-supported prescription-first option
Why it leads this comparison
VITURE Pro 2 publishes the most complete combination of prescription adjustment, display specifications and long-session positioning in this group. Its twin 0 to −5.0D dials let many myopic users start without a separate lens, while the optional magnetic frame covers prescriptions that need more than the dials can supply. VITURE describes the glasses as “Built for the long session, not just the first impression.”
Display specifications
The glasses use Sony Micro-OLED panels and present a 146-inch equivalent image. VITURE lists 1,600 nits, a 50° field of view and a 120Hz refresh rate. A high refresh rate can make cursor movement and scrolling look smoother, but it does not by itself guarantee comfortable focus or a stable virtual screen. Brightness also describes the display’s output specification, not how bright the image will appear through prescription optics in every environment.
Eye-care and comfort evidence
VITURE states that Pro 2 is SGS A+ certified and publishes a suggested wearing time of three to four hours. Treat that as the maker’s guidance, not a promise that every wearer can work continuously for that long. Stop if you develop headache, eye strain, nausea, double vision or persistent blur. Recheck the prescription and physical alignment before extending a session.

- 【AI Real-Time Translation】The INMO GO3 smart glasses is equipped with a powerful AI translation engine that supports real-time translation for two-way conversations. Text display instantly in your eyes, and with rapid response times and ultra-low latency, freeing you from phone so you can focus on natural conversation
- 【98 Languages Covered】Beyond common languages such as English, Spanish, French, and German, these translation glasses also support real-time translation for a wider range of languages, including Kinyarwanda, Tongan, and Icelandic—for a total of 98 languages
- 【Invisible Teleprompter Glasses】Utilizing IMAR optical technology, the downward angle of the waveguide and the forward angle of the frame have been adjusted so that others cannot see the screen content whether you are looking straight ahead, down, or to the side. Perfect for speeches and presentations
- 【Navigation & Hearing Assistance】With built-in HERE Maps, you don’t have to keep looking down at your phone—the navigation arrows are right in front of you through the AR glasses. Plus, the real-time captioning feature provides truly convenient communication assistance for the hearing impaired
- 【8MP HD】The inmo GO3 glasses are equipped with an 8MP HD camera that allows you to take POV videos and images. You can also use the camera for photo translation—simply snap a photo of a menu, street sign, or document, and get an instant translation.
The adjustable nose pads matter because a few millimeters of vertical or horizontal movement can change whether text sits inside the clearest part of the lens. Set the pads so the frame does not slide when you look down at a keyboard, then adjust each diopter while looking at small text rather than a large picture.
Where Pro 2 fits in a work setup
Pro 2 is a display device, not a self-contained computer. You need a compatible host and a connection path that can carry video, commonly a USB-C connection with video output. The exact experience depends on the phone, computer, handheld or console and on any adapter required by that device. Confirm video-output support before buying; a USB-C charging port alone is not enough.
For a laptop, the glasses can serve as a private large screen while the laptop supplies the operating system and applications. For a phone or console, supported display modes and power delivery can differ by model. Keep the host’s own display available during setup so you can change settings if the glasses lose signal.
XREAL One Pro: best for spatial behavior and low latency
What makes it different
XREAL One Pro uses the company’s X1 chip and lists approximately 3 ms motion-to-photon latency. XREAL contrasts that figure with software-based solutions at approximately 20–30 ms. Lower latency can reduce the visible lag between turning your head and the virtual image responding, which is particularly relevant when you use a spatially anchored screen or move your head while reading.
The glasses also advertise dynamic frame interpolation up to 120 frames per second. Interpolation can make motion appear smoother, but the source device, application and selected mode still determine the final result. It is not a substitute for a host that can provide the required video signal.
Prescription route
XREAL offers professionally tailored prescription lenses through optical partners and presents that service as support for long-term visual comfort and eye health. This is a custom-optics purchase rather than a built-in diopter adjustment. Verify that the optical service accepts your prescription and is available in your country before ordering.

Who should choose it
One Pro is the better fit when your priority is a stable spatial display with very low motion latency and you are willing to arrange custom prescription optics. It is less convenient than a built-in dial for someone who wants to share the glasses or make quick changes between users.
XREAL Air 2: the simpler insert-based path
Prescription choices
Air 2 supports three practical routes: order prescription lenses from Lensology, order from Rochester Optical, or take the supplied insert to a local optical store for custom lens fabrication. The local route can be useful when you already have a trusted optician, but ask in advance whether the store will work with the insert and whether it can measure the lens position correctly.
Compatibility
XREAL says Air 2 can connect to phones, personal computers and gaming consoles, with requirements varying by the experience you want. The key question is whether the host can output compatible video and provide enough power through the connection or adapter. A phone may need a specific USB-C display mode or adapter; a console may need an intermediary device. Check the requirements for your exact host rather than relying on the connector shape alone.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesWhy it can be good value
Air 2 is straightforward if you want an external display and already know how you will obtain prescription optics. Its trade-off is extra planning: you must source or fabricate the insert, and the glasses do not offer the built-in −5.0D adjustment found on Pro 2.
Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 is a different kind of smart glasses
Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 should not be treated as a monitor replacement in this comparison. Its official specifications describe prescription-oriented camera and audio glasses with a 12 MP ultra-wide camera. The FAQ lists up to eight hours on a single charge for Gen 2 and an included charging case with additional battery capacity.
Those features suit hands-free photos, video, calls, audio and assistant interactions. The cited material does not describe a transparent virtual-monitor display, field of view or host-device video connection. If your goal is to open a private desktop screen, choose a display-first XR model instead.

Comparing the features that matter for long work sessions
Prescription method and range
Pro 2 is the only model here with a published built-in myopia range, 0 to −5.0D per eye. One Pro and Air 2 depend on custom optical work. Custom lenses can address a broader prescription profile, but they add ordering steps and may cost more than a simple adjustment. None of the cited specifications establishes a universal prescription limit for the custom services, so confirm your exact numbers with the provider.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Display anchoring and motion
One Pro has the clearest published latency claim: approximately 3 ms motion-to-photon through its X1 chip, compared with the approximately 20–30 ms software solutions XREAL references. Pro 2 publishes refresh rate and field of view but not a comparable motion-to-photon figure in the cited material. Air 2 is positioned as a simpler external display, and the cited material does not establish an equivalent spatial-latency measurement.
Comfort and eye-care evidence
Pro 2 publishes SGS A+ certification and a three-to-four-hour suggested wearing time. One Pro’s prescription service is described as supporting long-term visual comfort and eye health. Those statements are not identical tests and should not be turned into a ranking of medical safety. No cited source provides an independent, head-to-head comfort study.
Optical clarity
Micro-OLED technology, brightness and refresh rate describe important display characteristics, but they do not tell you how sharp the edges will look through your prescription. Correct lens centering, clean optics, suitable nose-pad height and an accurate prescription are decisive. If text is sharp only in the center, do not compensate by increasing brightness; first check alignment and lens fabrication.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to set up prescription AR glasses for work
- Confirm the host. Identify the phone, computer, handheld or console you will use. Verify that its port supports video output and determine whether an adapter or powered hub is required.
- Choose the optical method. Try Pro 2’s dials if your correction is simple myopia within 0 to −5.0D. Otherwise order the appropriate magnetic frame or custom insert before planning long sessions.
- Prepare the prescription. Use a current prescription with sphere, cylinder, axis, prism if applicable, and the correct monocular or binocular pupillary distance.
- Connect with the host display visible. Plug in the glasses, select the required display mode and confirm that the host recognizes an external screen. Keep the host screen available while troubleshooting.
- Center the image. Adjust nose pads and temple position until text is equally clear across both eyes. Set each diopter while viewing small, high-contrast text.
- Start with a short session. Work for a limited period, then remove the glasses and assess comfort. Increase duration only if your eyes remain comfortable and the image stays stable.
- Refine the workspace. Increase application text size, reduce glare and keep a normal viewing distance from the keyboard and other screens. A private virtual monitor does not remove the need to blink and refocus.
Comfort practices for extended use
- Use the manufacturer’s suggested three-to-four-hour limit for Pro 2 as a ceiling for planning, not as a target you must reach.
- Take regular breaks to look at distant objects and allow your eyes to refocus.
- Keep lenses clean; fingerprints scatter light and can make small text appear softer.
- Stop immediately for dizziness, nausea, headache, eye pain, double vision or persistent blur.
- Have an optometrist check the prescription if symptoms continue after you reset the fit.
- Do not let a loose frame rest against your cheeks or eyelashes; pressure points become more noticeable during long sessions.
Troubleshooting common problems
The image is present but text is blurry
Check that the correct prescription method is being used, then adjust each eye independently and reposition the nose pads. If only one eye remains blurry, the issue may be the lens prescription or optical centering rather than the display.
Recommended Free Tools
The glasses show no picture
Confirm that the host’s USB-C port supports video, not charging only. Try the approved adapter or cable for that device, reconnect after the host is awake and test with another known-compatible host. Air 2 compatibility varies by phone, computer and console, so a successful charge connection does not prove video support.

The virtual screen moves or feels delayed
Check the selected display mode and host performance. One Pro’s onboard X1 chip and approximately 3 ms motion-to-photon specification address latency, but application output and the host still influence the experience. If you are using a software-only spatial solution, XREAL’s cited comparison places those solutions at approximately 20–30 ms.
The frame causes pressure
Reset the nose-pad height and temple position before ordering different lenses. A custom insert that is too thick or poorly centered can add pressure and reduce usable eye relief. Ask the optical provider to inspect the finished insert if the fit changed after lens installation.
Costs, availability and regional checks
Prices, stock, regional prescription limits, software support and optical-service availability change by market. The cited specifications do not establish a current universal price for any model, so check the manufacturer and optical provider serving your country immediately before purchase. Budget separately for custom lenses, an insert, adapters and any powered connection your host requires.
For a fair comparison, price the complete working setup rather than the glasses alone: the display device, prescription optics, host device, cable or adapter and carrying or charging accessories. A lower-priced frame can become the more expensive option if it requires custom optics and additional adapters that another model includes or supports more simply.
Decision checklist
- Choose VITURE Pro 2 if you want the most direct prescription setup, built-in 0 to −5.0D adjustment, a documented 7.5 g magnetic frame option and explicit three-to-four-hour guidance.
- Choose XREAL One Pro if approximately 3 ms motion-to-photon latency, the X1 spatial-computing chip and professionally tailored prescription lenses are your priorities.
- Choose XREAL Air 2 if you prefer a simpler external-display design and are comfortable ordering or locally fabricating an insert.
- Choose Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 only when your priority is camera, audio and AI functionality; do not expect a floating desktop monitor from the cited specifications.
Whichever route you take, verify the prescription method and host-device video support before ordering. Those two checks determine whether the glasses can become a usable work monitor rather than an uncomfortable accessory that cannot display your computer.
