Best UK audio and home-cinema deals reported
The examples below are pound-denominated UK prices reported by What Hi-Fi? on October 6, 2026. They are a snapshot of that live article, not a promise that the same price will appear at checkout or remain available.
| Product | Reported offer | Reference price reported | What to consider |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sony WH-1000XM5 wireless headphones | £192 | £380 launch price | Previous-generation model; decide whether its fit and features suit you rather than choosing on the discount alone. |
| LG 48-inch C5 OLED TV | £699 | £999 stated previous price; What Hi-Fi? calls the reduction 30% | The C5 is the previous generation, replaced by the C6. Waiting may suit buyers who are not in a hurry. |
| Hisense AX5125H Dolby Atmos system | £194 | £249 stated previous price | Includes a soundbar, wireless satellite speakers and a subwoofer; the reported price is a return to its Black Friday 2025 level, not described as an all-time low. |
What Hi-Fi? describes its live deals page as maintained by its AV experts and says that, aside from flagged exceptions, it features products it has reviewed, price-checked and recommended. That is the publisher’s description of its process, not an independent audit. Its October 6 roundup also says it may be worth waiting for Black Friday 2026 if a purchase is not urgent. How to judge the headphone deal
The £192 Sony WH-1000XM5 offer is for a previous model, not the current flagship, according to What Hi-Fi?. The £380 figure is its launch price, not necessarily the price the headphones most recently sold for. Use the offer as a starting point, then weigh the model against your priorities:
- Comfort and fit: headphones that feel uncomfortable after a short try are a poor travel or work purchase, whatever the discount.
- Noise cancellation and use: consider whether you need isolation for commuting or travel, or mainly want headphones for quieter listening at home.
- Model generation: the discount applies to the WH-1000XM5; do not mistake it for a current-generation flagship offer.
Amazon’s US event roundup names other headphone offers, including JBL Tune 720BT and Bose QuietComfort models, but those examples are not substitutes for the UK Sony price above and do not establish UK availability or pricing. Amazon’s US deal roundup presents its own event listings and discount claims.

Is £699 a good time to buy the 48-inch LG C5?
What Hi-Fi? reports the 48-inch LG C5 at £699, down from a stated £999, and calls it a 30% reduction. It also identifies the C5 as the previous generation, now replaced by the C6, and says its price could fall further toward year-end. The choice is therefore about timing as well as value: buy if you want this 48-inch OLED now and the checkout price works for you; wait if you are flexible and would rather see whether later reductions arrive.

What the Hisense Dolby Atmos offer includes
The Hisense AX5125H offer reported at £194 is not just a standalone bar: What Hi-Fi? describes a soundbar with wireless satellite speakers and a subwoofer. That arrangement may suit a room where you want separate rear speakers and deeper bass, but it also takes more space and setup than a single-bar solution. Check the listed package contents, placement needs and connections against your room before ordering.
What Hi-Fi? says the price returns to a level seen during much of Black Friday 2025. Its comparison with the stated £249 previous price is useful context, but the article does not call £194 the product’s best price ever.

Check the live price before you commit
- Open the product listing and confirm the exact model, screen size or included audio components, seller, delivery terms and checkout total.
- Compare the current offer with the product page’s price history. Amazon says its product pages provide up to 365 days of pricing data; that can help put a discount badge or stated previous price in context.
- Confirm the event deal is still available and that your Prime membership is active. Amazon says the offers are limited to available supply.
- If the item is not urgent, decide whether waiting for Black Friday 2026 is worth more than buying at today’s confirmed price.
Amazon’s official US roundup also advertises up to 44% off an Ember 55-inch Mini-LED TV paired with a Fire TV Soundbar Plus. That is Amazon’s own promotional claim, not an independently assessed discount, and it belongs to a separate US listing context; do not compare it directly with the UK prices above.

A non-Amazon alternative mentioned by What Hi-Fi?
What Hi-Fi? separately reports the Sony Bravia Theatre Trio at Peter Tyson for £1,599, after a £200 cashback offer and an additional £200 discount from £1,999. This is not an Amazon deal. Check Peter Tyson’s listing and cashback terms before treating the final cost as comparable with an upfront price.
