There is no independently verified overall winner among the family-focused AI assistants compared here. Choose by the job you most need help with: Google CC is built around shared information and task actions, while Domio, Dinnerbell, and Cozi Max advertise broader combinations of calendars, meals, lists, and chores. These are feature-based recommendations drawn from vendor descriptions, not hands-on tests of accuracy or time saved.
How to choose an AI assistant for your household
Family logistics often live in several places at once: school messages, individual calendars, shopping lists, and one person’s memory. The useful question is not which app claims the most AI, but where your household loses information or time.

- Calendar connection: Check which calendars can be connected and whether changes sync both ways. A listed connection does not by itself establish two-way syncing.
- Event capture: Decide whether you need to turn emails, photos, forwarded documents, or typed instructions into calendar events.
- Meals and groceries: Look for a workflow that takes a meal plan through recipes and into a shared shopping list, rather than stopping at suggestions.
- Chores: Check whether tasks can be assigned, repeated, or displayed as a chore chart.
- Household access: Confirm who can see, edit, or share family information, and whether each member needs an account.
- Practical fit: Verify current availability, price, device support, and privacy controls before moving family information into a service.
Which assistant fits which family need?
Google CC: shared context and task actions, with limited availability
Google Labs announced CC on September 17, 2026, as an experimental family agent. Google says it can organize information members choose to share, produce a shared daily brief, connect Calendar and Tasks, track dates and to-dos, and help with logistics such as permission forms, supply lists, and weekly meal plans. Groups can include up to six members, according to Google Labs.
As announced, CC is available on web and mobile to adults in the U.S. using personal Google accounts. Existing users are invited by email; new users can join a waitlist. That makes it a possible fit only for eligible households that can access the experimental rollout, not a broadly available default choice. Google says each member decides what to share and can change those choices; CC will not take action or share outside the group without permission. Review its permissions and any proposed calendar or form actions before approving them.
#1 Best Overall
Domio: broad calendar, meal, list, and chore coverage
Domio describes a shared, color-coded calendar with Google and Apple sync, plus an assistant that can add events, tasks, and list items. Its advertised household features also include weekly meal planning, recipes, shopping lists, routines, and chores. That breadth makes it worth considering if you want several planning jobs in one place. The feature claims, including contextual planning, come from Domio’s feature page; they do not establish independent accuracy or ease-of-use results.
Dinnerbell: event capture and a meal-to-grocery workflow
Dinnerbell describes importing event details from photos, messages, or email, alongside a shared family calendar, AI meal planning, shared lists, and chore charts. It also says users can access the service through an app, email, text, and a kiosk. Dinnerbell describes transferring grocery lists to delivery services but does not name providers, so check the current options before relying on a particular retailer connection. These are advertised features on Dinnerbell’s site.

Vendor pages describe advertised functions; they do not demonstrate how accurately a service extracts event details, whether its meal suggestions meet a particular family’s needs, or how much time it saves. Anna’s comparison, updated September 16, 2026, says its feature table is based on provider pages rather than hands-on testing and notes that plans and availability vary: Anna’s comparison. No neutral controlled comparison, verified accuracy rates, measured time-saved figures, or evidence that one tool improves family coordination was established.
Accordingly, treat this as a shortlist organized by advertised features, not a ranking of proven performance. Before adopting an app, test the specific workflow that matters to you: check a captured event against its original message, verify whether calendar edits sync as expected, review the sharing controls, and see whether meal plans and lists accommodate your household’s restrictions.
