Best Buy’s Apple AirTag (2nd generation) four-pack is listed for $89, $10 below its $99 comparable value. That works out to $22.25 per tracker before tax or shipping. It’s a worthwhile bundle if you have several belongings to track; if you need only one tag, compare the current single-tag price before buying extras. Best Buy’s price and stock can change, so check the listing before checkout.
What’s included in the $89 deal?
Best Buy lists the second-generation four-pack, model MFEA4LL/A, for $89 against a $99 comparable value. Apple’s store also lists a four-pack for $99. At Best Buy’s observed price, the savings are $10, or about 10.1%, and each of the four tags costs $22.25 before tax or shipping.

Amazon’s four-pack price has not been verified for October 3. MacRumors reported an $89 Amazon deal on July 20, 2026, but that historical price does not establish what Amazon is charging now. Tom’s Guide reported that Prime Big Deal Days are scheduled for October 6–7, 2026, so this Best Buy offer is ahead of the event—not a confirmed Amazon Prime Day deal.

Is the four-pack worth buying?
The bundle makes the most sense if you have several items to keep track of, such as keys, a bag, or luggage. At $89, you pay $22.25 per tracker, but the discount is modest: $10 off the four-pack’s $99 listed price. Apple lists a single AirTag at $29; Tom’s Guide listed a different offer, an Amazon single tag for $24 in its October 2 update. Those single-tag prices are not the same deal as Best Buy’s four-pack.
- Buy the four-pack if you expect to use most or all four tags and already use compatible Apple devices.
- Compare single tags if you need just one; paying for unused trackers can outweigh the bundle savings.
- Factor in a holder if you want to attach a tag to keys or another item without a built-in place for it. Holders are sold separately.
What’s new in the second-generation AirTag?
Apple says the 2026 AirTag uses a second-generation Ultra Wideband chip and an upgraded Bluetooth chip. Compared with the previous generation, Apple says Precision Finding can guide users from up to 50% farther away. Apple also says the speaker is 50% louder and can be heard from up to twice as far. These are relative, “up to” comparisons—not a guaranteed distance for locating every item. Apple gives no absolute range in its announcement.

Precision Finding combines haptic, visual, and audio feedback. Apple says it is available for the first time on Apple Watch Series 9 or later and Apple Watch Ultra 2 or later when running watchOS 26.2.1.
Will AirTag work with your iPhone or iPad?
Setup requires a compatible iPhone running iOS 26 or later, or an iPad running iPadOS 26 or later, plus an Apple Account and iCloud sign-in. Certain features require Find My. Apple Watch Precision Finding has the separate watch model and software requirements noted above. Check your device’s software version before purchasing if you are unsure it meets these requirements.

How location and unwanted-tracking protections work
When an AirTag is out of Bluetooth range of its paired iPhone, Apple’s Find My network can use nearby Apple devices to detect it and report an approximate location to its owner. That can help locate a misplaced object, but it is not a guarantee of recovery. Apple says location data and history are not stored on the AirTag and that Find My communications are end-to-end encrypted; it also describes cross-platform alerts and frequently changing Bluetooth identifiers as protections against unwanted tracking.
AirTag is for objects, not people or pets. Apple says it is “designed exclusively for tracking objects” and describes its anti-unwanted-tracking safeguards in its January 26, 2026 announcement.

Do you need to buy a key ring or case?
No holder is needed to buy the pack, but you may want one to attach a tag to keys or another item. Apple’s FineWoven Key Ring is compatible and was listed at $35 in its announcement; accessories are sold separately. Best Buy also lists compatible cases and key rings. The Best Buy listing identifies a replaceable CR2032 battery, so a new-pack purchase does not call for an immediate battery buy.
Can AirTag help with checked luggage?
Apple’s Share Item Location feature lets an owner temporarily share a misplaced item’s location with trusted third parties, including participating airlines. Apple says it has partnered with more than 50 airlines. It cites SITA as reporting 26% fewer baggage delays and 90% fewer “truly lost” or unrecoverable luggage incidents among participating carriers; those are reported carrier outcomes, not a promise about an individual trip. According to Apple, shared access ends when the item is reunited, when the owner stops sharing, or after seven days.
