These were historical offers published April 17, 2024—not prices verified for September 2026. The roundup listed second-generation Lightning AirPods for $89, Crest 3D Whitestrips Professional Effects Plus (24 treatments) for $29.99, a ninth-generation 64GB Wi‑Fi iPad for $249, and a Lenovo IdeaPad 1 for $279. Check the retailer page, seller, condition and exact configuration before treating any replacement listing as a deal.
Deal status at a glance
The source page called these “today’s deals” on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at 6:53 a.m. Its prices are reference points from that date. No source here independently verifies that any of the four prices or listings is live on September 28, 2026.

AirPods for $89: the exact model matters
The $89 item was second-generation standard AirPods with a Lightning charging case, not AirPods Pro and not a USB‑C model. The same archived page separately listed AirPods Pro 2 with USB‑C at $189.99, confirming the distinction. See the original listing at the archived roundup and compare Apple’s current lineup at Apple’s AirPods page.

Who the old offer suited
- Apple users wanting basic automatic pairing and hands-free listening at the lowest historical price.
- Buyers who already own Lightning cables and do not need active noise cancellation or the Pro fit.
Reasons to skip or investigate
- A current USB‑C household may prefer a newer AirPods generation despite a higher price.
- Confirm whether the item is new, refurbished or marketplace stock; old inventory can have reduced battery capacity.
- Check the seller, return window and Apple or seller warranty. Do not assume “AirPods” includes active noise cancellation.
- Verify that the listing is the Lightning second-generation model rather than a photo or title that has been replaced by a newer product.
Crest 3D Whitestrips at $29.99: a 40% calculation with a product-count warning
Using the archive’s stated $50 reference price, $50 minus $29.99 equals $20.01, or approximately 40% off. Elsewhere, the same page displays “save $13” and “26%,” which does not match that arithmetic and may be stale or tied to another configuration. Treat the 40% figure as a calculation from the two stated prices, not proof of a current discount.
The featured description says Professional Effects Plus, 24 treatments. A captured Amazon page, however, concerns a different 20-count listing and marks that item unavailable: archived Amazon listing. Do not substitute Professional Effects, Professional Effects Plus, Classic Vivid and 1 Hour Express packages without checking the SKU and treatment count. Amazon’s archived directions describe once-daily use for 30 minutes, but follow the current package directions and warnings for whatever product you actually receive.

How to judge the value
- Compare cost per treatment, not just the percentage: $29.99 divided by 24 is about $1.25 per treatment if the 24-count package and price are genuine.
- Confirm count, expiry date, seal, seller and return policy at checkout.
- Peroxide whitening can cause sensitivity or gum irritation. People with untreated dental problems should consult a dentist first.
- Whitening strips do not change the color of crowns, veneers, fillings or other restorations. “Professional-level” and stain-year claims are marketing language, not independent performance findings.
For product-family comparisons, use Crest’s official whitening page; current ingredients, counts and directions can differ by SKU.
$249 ninth-generation iPad: inexpensive, but old and storage-limited
The tablet was the Wi‑Fi ninth-generation iPad with an A13 Bionic chip, 10.2-inch Retina display, 64GB storage and a 12MP camera, advertised at $249 versus $329. The archive also listed a 10th-generation iPad at $349, so check the generation before buying. The original details are in the archived roundup; current models can be compared at Apple’s iPad page.

- ULTIMATE OVER-EAR LISTENING EXPERIENCE—Powered by the H2 chip, AirPods Max 2 delivers improved high-fidelity audio with deep bass, expansive mids, and crisp highs for an unparalleled listening experience.
- TUNE OUT THE NOISE—Up to 1.5x more Active Noise Cancellation than the previous generation, fully immersing you in every sound.*
- HEAR THE WORLD AROUND YOU—Adaptive Audio automatically adjusts noise cancellation levels to suit your environment. Conversation Awareness lowers the volume of what’s playing to make it easy to talk to those around you.* And Transparency lets outside sounds in so you can interact with your surroundings.
- PERSONALIZED SPATIAL AUDIO—With sound tuned to your unique ear shape and dynamic head tracking, AirPods Max 2 delivers an immersive listening experience that surrounds you with theater-like sound.
- COMMUNICATE ACROSS LANGUAGES—Simply press and hold the listening mode button to activate Live Translation powered by Apple Intelligence,* which automatically translates the language someone is speaking into your preferred language.
What the specification means
- 64GB is workable for browsing, streaming and light schoolwork, but restrictive for large games, photos, downloaded video and years of app updates.
- This generation uses a Lightning-based accessory ecosystem, not USB‑C.
- It is a discontinued older generation by 2026. A modest price gap to a current entry-level or newer refurbished iPad may buy longer support and a more useful connector.
Checks before accepting a low price
- Confirm Wi‑Fi versus cellular, new versus open-box/refurbished condition and battery-health terms.
- Check that the unit is not carrier-locked and includes the advertised charger or accessories.
- Read the full warranty and return policy. A $249 sticker is not automatically good value if coverage is limited or the device is heavily used.
$279 Lenovo IdeaPad 1: storage looks generous, but the CPU and model number decide the experience
The archived “Student Laptop” listing specified a 15.6-inch display, Intel dual-core processor, 12GB RAM, 512GB SSD and an additional 128GB eMMC drive, priced at $279 versus $349. “IdeaPad 1” is a family name, not a complete model identifier. The source does not reveal the processor model, display resolution, RAM arrangement, battery, ports, weight, Windows edition or warranty.
Likely good uses
- Web browsing, Microsoft Office, school portals, video calls and streaming.
- Users who value a large screen and local storage more than high performance.
Likely poor uses
- Modern gaming, video editing, 3D applications, virtual machines and heavy multitasking.
- Workloads where a low-end dual-core processor or budget, low-resolution panel becomes the bottleneck.
Why “640GB” is misleading shorthand
The 512GB SSD and 128GB eMMC are separate storage technologies; they should not be treated as one equivalent 640GB high-speed drive. Confirm which drive contains Windows, whether both are usable, and whether RAM or storage can be upgraded. Use Lenovo’s IdeaPad pages to match the exact model number before purchase.
Rank #4
- ACTIVE NOISE CANCELLATION—AirPods 5 offer improved Active Noise Cancellation to help reduce outside noise, at their best value yet.

Which historical deal was strongest?
| Buyer | Most defensible choice | Condition |
|---|---|---|
| Apple accessory shopper | AirPods | Only if basic second-generation features and Lightning charging are wanted and the listing is authenticated. |
| Whitening-strip shopper | Crest | Only after confirming the 24-treatment SKU, current directions and a genuine current price. |
| Tablet buyer | iPad | Worth considering only when the older 64GB capacity and Lightning connector fit the user better than a newer alternative. |
| Basic productivity buyer | Lenovo IdeaPad 1 | Only after the exact Intel processor, display and storage layout pass inspection. |
Deal-verification checklist
- Open the retailer page rather than relying on a search snippet or archived headline.
- Match the model number, generation, connector, storage and package count to the description.
- Check whether the seller is the manufacturer, an authorized retailer or a marketplace third party.
- Confirm new, refurbished, used or open-box condition, warranty, returns, shipping and sales tax.
- Look for coupon, membership, quantity, location or fulfillment restrictions.
- Compare the claimed regular price with recent selling prices; a crossed-out number alone does not establish a real saving.
- At checkout, verify that the final price and item remain the same.
Bottom line
These four prices identify a genuine April 17, 2024 deal roundup, not a verified September 2026 sale. The AirPods were second-generation Lightning earbuds; Crest’s roughly 40% calculation applies only to the stated $50-to-$29.99, 24-treatment configuration; the iPad was an older 64GB ninth-generation model; and the IdeaPad’s exact processor was never established. Buy a current replacement only after the retailer confirms the exact configuration, condition, seller, warranty and final price.
