GEDC will take a 70% stake in the 100 MW Phase 1 Gulf Edge Data Center 01 project in Rayong and provide a structure for additional facilities across Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).
What Gulf Edge Data Center Company does
Gulf announced GEDC’s establishment on 14 October 2026. The company is wholly owned through Gulf Edge Limited and is intended to develop and provide data-center services, along with businesses that support data-center operations. It will hold 70% of Gulf Edge Data Center 01 (GEDC01) and serve as Gulf’s vehicle for future data-center investments.

Gulf has also established holding companies named GEDC02, GEDC03 and GEDC04. Their creation signals a platform approach: individual projects can be financed, built and operated through separate entities while GEDC coordinates the wider portfolio.

GSA01: the operating site
GSA01 is Gulf’s first named facility in this pipeline. Gulf’s 2026 shareholder minutes list capacity of up to 25.6 MW and say commercial operations began in the second quarter of 2025. The “up to” qualification indicates maximum planned capacity rather than a statement that all 25.6 MW is currently energized.

GSA02: Microsoft-linked capacity in Chonburi
GSA02, in Chonburi’s EEC, is planned to start operations in 2027 with capacity of up to 38 MW. Gulf has announced an agreement under which GSA02 will provide data-center services to Microsoft’s Thailand cloud region, supporting in-country data processing and storage.
The same announcement says Gulf’s digital-services arm G-AIS and Microsoft plan solutions covering cloud, artificial-intelligence customer service and cybersecurity, alongside a joint go-to-market effort for private-sector, state-enterprise and government customers. The announcement does not state a specific Microsoft commissioning date beyond GSA02’s 2027 operating plan.
GEDC01: a 100 MW Phase 1 project
GEDC01 is being built in Rayong, also within the EEC. Gulf’s shareholder minutes describe Phase 1 as 100 MW and target commercial operation in the fourth quarter of 2027. GEDC’s 70% interest gives the new holding company a controlling position in the project; the announcement does not identify the other equity holders.

How large could Gulf’s platform become?
Gulf’s 2025 results release identifies data centers and cloud as a 2026 growth driver and sets a target of 300–500 MW of total data-center capacity within the next three to five years. That is a company ambition, not a guaranteed delivered capacity or a regulatory forecast. The named projects represent up to 163.6 MW when their stated maxima are added (25.6 MW, 38 MW and 100 MW), so reaching the target would require substantial additional projects beyond GSA01, GSA02 and GEDC01.
Gulf CFO Yupapin Wangviwat said the company expected 2026 revenue to grow approximately 10–15%, supported by gradual recognition of revenue from additional capacity after new projects begin. The statement describes an expectation for group operating performance; it does not assign a revenue figure to GEDC or any individual facility.
Gulf’s cloud and AI relationships
Microsoft
Microsoft is the announced anchor customer for GSA02’s Thailand cloud-region services. The arrangement is focused on local processing and storage, an important requirement for organizations that need workloads retained in Thailand. Gulf and Microsoft also describe planned digital, AI and cybersecurity offerings for public- and private-sector customers.

Gulf’s 2025 results release describes collaboration with Google on Google Distributed Cloud air-gapped services and a strategic framework to explore AI infrastructure and solutions in Thailand. The release presents Google as a strategic technology partner; it does not name Google as an anchor customer for GSA01, GSA02 or GEDC01.
What the announcement means for Thailand’s data-center market
GEDC separates Gulf’s data-center activities from its broader corporate structure and gives future projects a dedicated investment platform. The EEC locations in Chonburi and Rayong place two of the announced developments in Thailand’s main industrial and digital-development corridor, while GSA01 provides an operating reference point in Samut Prakan.
The immediate build-out is staged rather than simultaneous: GSA01 is already operating, GSA02 is planned for 2027, and GEDC01 is under construction for the fourth quarter of 2027. Capacity figures are maximum or Phase 1 values, so actual energized capacity, later phases, power-use effectiveness and customer occupancy will depend on construction and commercial milestones that Gulf has not yet disclosed.
