Why did British Brooks miss practice?
The Texans listed Brooks, a running back, with a hamstring injury and marked him as a did not participate (DNP) on Wednesday in their Week 4 injury report. Houston Texans’ Week 4 injury report
CBS Sports/RotoWire reported on October 1 that Brooks also did not participate Thursday, making it his second consecutive missed practice to open the week. The practice question was overtaken by a roster move: on October 2, 2026, Houston announced that Brooks had been placed on Reserve/Injured. What does the Reserve/Injured move mean for his return?
The Texans’ announcement confirms Brooks’s placement on the list, but gives no timetable. Without a return date in the notice, it is not possible to identify a week when he will be available. CBS Sports/RotoWire had said his absence would not change Houston’s offensive approach if he could not play Sunday; that was the outlet’s assessment at the time, not a statement from the team.
