Who are the characters in Terminator: Survivors?
Official store and lore material promises both iconic franchise characters and original characters. The sources reviewed do not, however, provide a complete named cast or confirm individual roles beyond the figures and story details below. Treat names familiar from other Terminator films or games as unconfirmed unless the developers identify them for this game.

The T-800
The T-800 is the clearest confirmed character and the central machine threat. The official FAQ describes a single T-800 sent by Skynet through time to help change the outcome of the future war, and presents it as a relentless hunter. Steam’s store description also frames the T-800 as a persistent pursuer. The available material does not establish a particular actor’s likeness or a named individual identity for this machine. Sarah Connor is part of the game’s backstory: in this timeline, her actions avert the 1997 Judgment Day depicted in Terminator 2. That postpones rather than prevents catastrophe. The FAQ says Judgment Day occurs in 2005, but does not confirm that Sarah appears on-screen in the game. The official lore FAQ is the basis for this timeline.

John Connor and the Resistance
The game’s story concerns the beginnings of John Connor’s Resistance. Steam describes players as helping the Resistance rise from the ashes. This confirms an emerging movement in the story, not that John is playable or directly appears in the game. Steam’s game listing describes the Resistance premise.
Original characters
The publisher’s official copy confirms original characters but does not name them in the sources reviewed. No individual identities, roles, or relationships should be treated as established until the publisher or developer announces them.

What factions are in Terminator: Survivors?
Human factions are part of the game’s world, but the official material reviewed does not publish a named faction roster. After the nuclear attack, survivors outside blast zones or sheltering in bunkers face radiation, scarce supplies, and social collapse. With long-range communications down, people form small alliances and communities; the official FAQ says these groups can conflict and compete for territory and resources.

When does the game take place?
The official lore FAQ places Terminator: Survivors in 2009, four years after Judgment Day in 2005. Sarah Connor changed the timing of the catastrophe by averting the 1997 event, but Skynet still emerged and launched its nuclear assault later. This alternate timeline is why the game’s setting should not be mistaken for a direct continuation in which the 1997 Judgment Day occurred as originally predicted. The official FAQ gives the dates and their context.
Is Terminator: Survivors co-op or single-player?
Older FAQ and PlayStation Store descriptions advertised co-op for up to three friends, but that is no longer the current plan. In a developer update dated 16 December 2025, the team said it had decided to put cooperative multiplayer aside. The update explained: “After months of internal testing, discussions with players and fans of the license, we came to the conclusion that to give you an authentic “Terminator” experience with the best possible shooting and exploration gameplay, we would have to put aside the cooperative multiplayer.” This is the developers’ stated decision, not an independent assessment. See the 16 December 2025 developer update. The older co-op wording remains on some listings, including the PlayStation Store concept page, but is superseded by the later update.

At the time reflected by the current Steam listing, the game is not yet available and its release date is listed as to be announced. Nacon lists physical and digital formats, while its PS5 product page reports the product as unavailable.
