Tefal describes the EY5018 as a 2-in-1 appliance: Extra Crisp hot-air cooking for air frying, plus a die-cast aluminium grill plate. Tefal Germany lists the plate as included. The grill function adds a searing surface inside the appliance; it does not make the EY5018 a separate, full-size grill.

Tefal’s regional specifications do not agree on capacity. Germany lists 4.6 L, while New Zealand and UK materials list 4.2 L. Tefal Germany says the appliance can prepare up to six portions; the UK page describes it as serving up to six people. These are regional manufacturer descriptions, not a guarantee that every recipe will serve six.

The discrepancy is not resolved by the cited pages and does not, by itself, prove that one listing is wrong. Before buying, check the exact regional model suffix, the capacity on the local product page, the voltage, and whether the grill plate is included. Do not assume that pages using the EY5018 name describe interchangeable versions.

Tefal Germany lists a temperature range of 80–200 °C and a timer of up to 60 minutes with an audible signal. Confirm the controls and settings against the manual for the version sold in your market.

“99% less added fat” is a specific comparison
Tefal states that cooking 700 g of fresh fries with 8 ml of oil uses 99% less added fat than traditional deep frying with 2 L of oil. This is the manufacturer’s comparison under those stated conditions; it should not be read as a result for every food, recipe, or cooking method. The cited official product pages do not state a publication year for this claim.

Tefal New Zealand says the EY5018 is 49% faster than a classic oven, attributing the figure to an external test involving frozen fries. The product page does not establish that this speed advantage applies to other foods or recipes, nor does it identify a publication year for the claim.

Cleaning and repair support
Tefal Germany says parts are dishwasher-safe, and Tefal Germany and the UK state 15-year repairability. Those are manufacturer statements, not a guarantee that every part will be available in every market for that period. Follow the manual for your regional version before putting any component in a dishwasher, and check local service terms and parts availability if repairability matters to your purchase.

The EY5018 is worth considering if you want an air fryer that also includes a grill plate and the capacity listed for your local version fits your usual batches. The clearest reasons to pause are uncertainty about which regional capacity applies to the unit for sale and the lack of independent test evidence in the cited material.
