The TECO TPO35HFWET is a portable reverse-cycle air conditioner rated by TECO at 3.5kW for cooling and 3.2kW for heating. Its listed features include Wi-Fi, a remote, a washable filter and a window ventilation kit with a 1.5m exhaust duct. But a firm performance verdict is not possible from the public evidence: CHOICE marks its detailed scores as members-only and lists the model as discontinued. Treat the specifications below as manufacturer claims, and check stock, price and warranty terms before buying.
What the TECO TPO35HFWET is
This is a portable, single-appliance option for rooms where a fixed air conditioner is not practical. It offers cooling, heating, fan, dehumidifying and AUTO modes, according to TECO’s product page. The model needs an exhaust route through a window; portability does not mean it can operate without venting.

TECO says the ventilation kit is included and specifies a 1.5m exhaust duct. Confirm that the window arrangement in your room can accommodate the kit and hose, and consult the supplied manual for installation and drainage instructions. The product page links a manual identified in its filename as TPO35C(H)FWET, dated 2024-07-19.

Capacity figures do not by themselves establish how quickly a room will reach a set temperature or how efficiently the unit will perform in a particular space. The available evidence does not provide independent, like-for-like test results or room-specific guidance for this model. The 64dB(A) figure is a manufacturer-listed sound-power value; it should not be read as an independently measured sound-pressure level at a user’s position.
Features and what is included
TECO lists Wi-Fi, a remote controller, sleep mode, a 24-hour timer, two fan speeds, an LED control panel and a water-full alarm. It also lists a washable filter. These are manufacturer-stated features, not hands-on findings.

What CHOICE’s public listing does—and does not—show
CHOICE labels the TPO35HFWET a reverse-cycle model, marks it “Discontinued model” and displays a listed price of A$1,049. That price is not confirmation of a current offer or current stock. The accessible page keeps its expert rating, cooling score, energy-efficiency score and high-fan noise result behind member access, so the publicly visible information does not establish a test-based performance verdict.

Is the TPO35HFWET a good buy?
It may suit someone specifically looking for portable cooling and heating, provided the room can be vented through a suitable window and the unit’s size, weight and hose arrangement work for the space. Its reverse-cycle specification and included vent kit are relevant advantages to assess, but the evidence here cannot confirm real-world cooling, heating, noise or energy performance.
Before buying, weigh the published specifications against comparable models using the same kinds of evidence: heating and cooling capacity, power input, independent noise measurements and their sound metric, dehumidification, dimensions, included venting, current price, warranty and service access. Do not compare TECO’s specification figures directly with another product’s independent test scores as if they were measured on the same basis.
