TECO lists Wi-Fi control, a remote, a 24-hour timer and a window kit, but the publicly accessible independent review evidence does not reveal measured cooling, noise or efficiency scores. Treat the model as a possible fit only after checking its installation requirements, current local availability and the testing information you can access.
What the TECO TPO35CFWET does—and does not do

Do not confuse it with TECO’s separately listed TPO35HFWET, which is rated for 3.5kW cooling and 3.2kW heating. TECO’s product page lists the model as EAN 9346998006916.

Check your window opening, the kit’s dimensions and fittings, and the distance to the installation point before buying; the published information does not establish that the kit will fit every window. TECO’s page calls for proper ventilation and drainage in its maintenance advice. It does not identify a replacement-kit part number or establish compatibility with generic third-party kits.

CHOICE’s expert rating, cooling score, energy-efficiency score, high-fan noise result, detailed pros and cons, and recommendation are behind member access on that page. Without those results, the public information does not support a verdict about measured cooling performance, comparative efficiency, test noise or whether CHOICE recommends the model. The page names Matthew Steen as Director of Reviews and Testing but provides no accessible quotation from him about this unit.

How to decide whether it fits your needs
- Choose by function: If you need heat as well as cooling, this is the wrong model; check the exact model code rather than relying on a similar product name.
- Check room performance evidence: Seek independently tested coverage for a room like yours. The accessible information does not establish a recommended floor area, and kW capacity by itself is not a guarantee of suitability.
- Consider running cost and noise: Compare energy-use and noise results measured under comparable conditions. TECO’s published power and sound-power specifications are not household bills or independent listening tests.
- Measure the installation: Confirm that the included window kit and 1.5m duct can be routed and fitted as intended, and account for the unit’s 27kg net weight and stated dimensions.
- Verify the purchase: CHOICE marks the model discontinued, and the available information does not confirm current stock, a live price or an Amazon listing. Check the exact cool-only model, seller, region, warranty and local availability before paying.
