It is reported with 5G, a MediaTek Dimensity 6400 5G+ chipset, a 6,500mAh battery, 45W charging and a 50MP rear camera. The Spark 50C is a 4G model with a MediaTek Helio G81, 5,200mAh battery, 15W charging and a 13MP rear camera. Both phones are built around a 6.78-inch, 120Hz HD-class display, so screen size and refresh rate are not the deciding factors. The right choice depends mainly on your network, performance expectations, charging needs, camera priorities and local price.
Tecno Spark 50S 5G vs Spark 50C at a glance
The Spark 50S and Spark 50C share the same broad Spark-series format, but their core hardware is different. The table below combines launch reports for the 50S with TECNO’s official Spark 50C specifications. Because TECNO has not published an authoritative 50S specification page in the material available for this comparison, 50S figures should be treated as reported launch specifications and checked against the listing for your market.

Network and everyday performance
5G makes the Spark 50S more future-ready
The most fundamental difference is connectivity. Launch coverage identifies the Spark 50S as a 5G phone, while TECNO’s official Spark 50C specification lists only 2G, 3G and 4G. If your carrier offers 5G in your area and the local 50S version supports the carrier’s bands, it can use newer networks and avoid an immediate upgrade when 4G capacity becomes congested or is eventually reduced. Actual 5G availability still depends on your country, carrier, SIM plan and the bands built into the regional handset.

A 4G phone is not automatically slow for basic tasks; the trade-off is that it has no path to 5G service. Check the exact network bands and carrier compatibility before importing either model, particularly the 50S, because launch specifications can vary between regions.

Dimensity 6400 5G+ versus Helio G81
The Dimensity 6400 5G+ reported for the Spark 50S is a newer platform positioned above the Helio G81 used in the Spark 50C. That difference should show up in app launches, multitasking headroom and the ability to handle newer network features. The Helio G81 is a budget 4G chipset, so the 50C is best matched with messaging, social apps, video playback, web browsing and light games rather than demanding 3D titles or heavy background workloads.
TECNO has been associated with a claim of more than 450,000 points in AnTuTu for a Dimensity 6400 5G+ Spark 50 family model through PR Newswire in 2026. That is a vendor claim for the family platform, not an independently tested Spark 50S result. It should not be used as a guaranteed score for every retail configuration. No independent gaming, thermal or benchmark testing was available for this comparison, so the processor distinction is a specification-based judgment rather than a measured performance ranking.
Battery capacity and charging
Why the 50S has the endurance advantage on paper
The Spark 50S is reported with a 6,500mAh battery, compared with 5,200mAh for the Spark 50C in TECNO’s official specification. That is a substantial capacity advantage for the 50S. Battery life will also depend on display brightness, refresh-rate behavior, mobile signal, camera use, gaming and background applications, but the larger cell gives the 50S more reserve under comparable conditions.

45W versus 15W charging
Charging is an even clearer separation. The 50S is reported with 45W wired charging; the 50C is rated at 15W. The 45W system can replenish the larger battery at a much higher input rate when used with a compatible charger and cable. The 50C’s 15W charging is functional but deliberately basic, so a large top-up takes longer. Exact charging times were not published and should not be inferred from the wattage alone: charger support, temperature, battery level and regional accessories affect the result.
- Choose the 50S if you frequently forget to charge, travel, use navigation or spend long periods away from an outlet.
- Choose the 50C if you normally charge overnight and value a lower-cost 4G phone more than rapid top-ups.
- Verify whether the required charger is included in your market’s box; the available specifications do not establish accessory contents for every region.
Display: similar size, similar role
Neither phone wins decisively on screen size. Both are reported with a 6.78-inch panel and a 120Hz refresh rate. TECNO’s official Spark 50C page specifies a 720×1600 resolution, while launch coverage describes the 50S display as HD-class. That means both are large-screen phones aimed at video, reading and scrolling rather than compact one-handed use.
A 120Hz mode can make supported scrolling and animations appear smoother than a conventional 60Hz mode. TECNO’s product copy describes an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz for smoother gaming and video viewing. “Up to 120Hz” does not mean every app or situation runs at 120Hz continuously; the phone may adjust the rate to balance smoothness and power use. The available information does not establish panel brightness, color gamut, touch-sampling rate or protection glass, so those should not be assumed to be identical.

Camera hardware comparison
Rear cameras
Launch reports give the Spark 50S a 50MP rear camera. TECNO’s official Spark 50C specification lists a 13MP rear camera with dual rear flash. On hardware resolution alone, the 50S has more potential for fine detail and cropping, especially in good light. Resolution is not a guarantee of better photographs: image processing, sensor size, lens quality, stabilization and lighting determine the final result, and no independent camera samples or tests were available here.
Recommended Free Tools
The 50C’s dual rear flash is explicitly listed, which can help illuminate close subjects in very dark conditions. The 50S launch material available for this comparison does not establish its flash arrangement. Do not treat the 50MP figure as proof that the 50S produces four-times-better images; it identifies the sensor’s nominal pixel count, not complete camera quality.
Front cameras
Both models are reported or officially listed with an 8MP front camera. Selfie quality may still differ because of processing and lighting, but there is no resolution advantage to either phone in the published specifications.

Memory, storage and expansion
Launch coverage reports the Spark 50S in configurations reaching 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, with expansion of up to 2TB also reported. The Spark 50C official page lists 64GB or 128GB storage and 8GB of extended RAM. Extended RAM generally refers to storage being used to supplement working memory; it is not the same as having 8GB of physical RAM. TECNO does not list every market configuration in the information used here, so confirm the exact physical RAM, storage, card-slot arrangement and maximum card capacity on the box or regional product page.
For buyers who keep many photos, offline videos or large games, the 128GB version is the safer starting point. A 64GB 50C can work for light users, but system files and app updates reduce the free space available after setup. If you plan to use a memory card, check whether the local handset has a dedicated slot or a hybrid slot before buying; that detail is not established in the published comparison material.

Android 16 and HiOS
Android 16 is listed for the Spark 50C and reported for the Spark 50S, with HiOS 16 mentioned for the 50S. Both therefore start from a current Android generation in the 2026 launch material. No authoritative update-duration policy was found for either phone. Do not promise a specific number of Android-version upgrades or security-update years unless TECNO states them for your country and model number.

Water and dust protection
Some Spark 50-family launch reports discuss durability features, but the exact certification for the Spark 50S must be verified in the market where you buy it. TECNO’s official Spark 50C page lists dimensions and sensors but does not list an IP rating. The 50C should therefore not be treated as water-resistant on the basis of the 50S coverage or the family name. Keep both phones away from water unless the regional documentation explicitly provides a certified rating and its conditions.
Price and availability
A Telset.id report dated 16 October 2026 lists Indian Spark 50S launch prices of INR19,999 and INR22,999 for two configurations. These are India launch figures, not global prices, and they may change with taxes, promotions, storage options and retailer stock. The same report said Spark 50C pricing and availability had not been announced. There is therefore no reliable like-for-like price conclusion until TECNO publishes a local 50C price.
When comparing offers, match the same storage tier and check whether the seller provides an official local warranty. Imported phones can differ in supported bands, software region, charger, warranty coverage and included accessories even when the model name is identical.

Which phone is better for your needs?
Pick the Spark 50S 5G when:
- Your carrier and location provide 5G, or you want a phone with a longer connectivity runway.
- You value the newer Dimensity 6400 5G+ platform for multitasking and heavier apps.
- You want the larger 6,500mAh battery and faster 45W charging.
- A higher-resolution 50MP rear-camera specification matters to you.
- The local price premium is acceptable and the exact variant is officially supported.
Pick the Spark 50C when:
- 4G is sufficient for your coverage, plan and expected ownership period.
- Your use is mainly calls, messaging, social media, streaming, browsing and light games.
- You can accept 15W charging and a 5,200mAh battery in exchange for a potentially lower price.
- You do not need the 50S’s reported 50MP rear camera or 5G modem.
- The 50C is the model with reliable local stock and warranty in your market.
A practical buying checklist
- Confirm the model name. Make sure the listing says “Tecno Spark 50S 5G” or “Tecno Spark 50C”; do not rely on a seller’s shortened title.
- Check network bands and SIM support. Match the regional model to your carrier before paying, especially for imported 50S units.
- Match storage tiers. Compare 64GB with 64GB or 128GB with 128GB; otherwise a low headline price may simply reflect less storage.
- Verify the charger and warranty. Confirm that the box and warranty match the advertised charging capability and your country.
- Read the regional specification page. Camera, memory, card expansion, dimensions and software details can vary by market.
- Check durability documentation. Do not assume an IP rating for either phone unless it is printed in the official documentation for that exact model.
- Consider total ownership. Include the cost of a compatible case, screen protector, charger and any memory card when comparing the final price.
Bottom line
The Spark 50S 5G wins this specification comparison: it adds 5G, uses the stronger reported chipset, carries a larger battery, charges three times faster by rated wattage and offers a higher-resolution rear-camera specification. The Spark 50C is a sensible 4G alternative when its local price is substantially lower and your needs are basic. Because 50S details come from launch coverage and prices and configurations are regional, verify the exact listing, warranty and network compatibility before ordering.
