The main difference is what each phone prioritizes: the TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G lists a larger 144Hz display, while the India-market OPPO Reno16c 5G (model CPH2859) adds a 50MP 3.5x telephoto camera, a higher stated battery capacity, faster charging and storage-card support. OPPO’s published India prices run from ₹49,999 to ₹59,999, but a reliable official TECNO India price was not established, so a definitive price gap cannot be calculated from the available figures.

Which phone has the better display?
On the listed specifications, the POVA 8 Pro has the larger screen and higher maximum refresh rate: 6.78 inches and up to 144Hz, compared with the Reno16c’s 6.69 inches and 120Hz. TECNO also lists a higher resolution, 2644 × 1208 versus OPPO’s 2372 × 1080. These figures describe size, resolution and refresh rate; they do not by themselves establish brightness, color accuracy, viewing quality or how consistently a phone uses its highest refresh rate.
Which has the better camera setup?
The Reno16c has the more versatile listed rear-camera arrangement because it adds a dedicated 50MP 3.5x telephoto camera. Both phones list a 50MP OIS main camera and an 8MP ultrawide. TECNO lists a 13MP front camera; the cited OPPO specification details do not state a front-camera figure. A camera’s megapixel count or the presence of a telephoto lens is not a substitute for image samples: there is no independent camera testing here to establish which phone takes better pictures.

Battery capacity and charging compared
OPPO lists a 7000mAh typical battery capacity and 80W charging for the Reno16c; its rated capacity is 6850mAh. TECNO lists 6500mAh and 45W charging for the POVA 8 Pro. That gives OPPO the higher stated capacity and charging wattage, but it does not prove longer battery life or a particular charging time. Actual endurance and charging speed depend on conditions and usage, and no comparable test results are established here.
Storage, RAM and configuration details
TECNO lists 256GB and 512GB storage versions. OPPO’s India configurations include 128GB and 256GB, and its specifications list storage-card support. If you keep large video libraries, games or offline files, compare the exact storage tier you can buy and whether removable-card expansion matters to you.

An official TECNO India price was not established in the manufacturer information available for this comparison. A secondary comparison listing reports ₹49,999 for the POVA 8 Pro 5G, but its configuration and price basis are not sufficiently aligned with OPPO’s tiered official figures to support a dependable price-gap calculation. Check current India listings for the exact model and matching storage/RAM configuration before deciding which is better value.
Which one should you choose?
- Choose the POVA 8 Pro based on its listed specifications if your priority is a larger, higher-refresh-rate display, or if you want a listed 512GB storage option.
- Consider the Reno16c if you want a dedicated 3.5x telephoto camera, higher stated battery capacity, higher charging wattage, storage-card support, or a clearly published India price tier.
- Compare exact variants before buying. Match storage and physical RAM, verify the current seller price, and confirm the model number and regional version. A configuration-level price check is necessary to assess value fairly.
Check the regional model before relying on a comparison
This comparison uses OPPO’s India Reno16c 5G model CPH2859. OPPO distinguishes it from the India Reno16 model CPH2865 and warns that Reno16-series models sold in other countries can have different specifications and prices. Confirm the model number on the product listing or device details; a name alone may not identify the same regional variant.
