The TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G has the higher listed refresh rate, a larger battery and an explicitly listed ultrawide rear camera. The Samsung Galaxy F70 Pro 5G offers a Super AMOLED display and a stated six-generation OS and six-year security-update commitment. Price listings in India show a large gap, but they disagree, and Samsung’s own product page currently says “Not for sale.” Check live stock and the exact variant before buying.

Which phone has the better display?
TECNO lists a 144Hz refresh rate, compared with Samsung’s maximum of 120Hz. A higher refresh rate can make supported scrolling and animations look smoother, but it does not establish overall display quality or guarantee that every app or game runs at that rate. TECNO also lists the higher resolution: 2644 × 1208 versus Samsung’s 1080 × 2340.
Samsung identifies its panel as Super AMOLED, while TECNO calls its display AMOLED. Those labels and the paper specifications alone do not establish which screen is brighter or looks better in everyday use. Samsung lists Gorilla Glass Victus; TECNO lists Gorilla Glass 7i.

Camera hardware: an ultrawide versus three rear cameras
TECNO specifies a 50MP OIS main camera and an 8MP ultrawide. Samsung lists three rear cameras—50MP, 5MP and 2MP—and OIS. TECNO’s specification makes the ultrawide camera explicit; Samsung’s listed camera count does not, by itself, tell you which focal lengths or shooting situations its extra cameras serve.
For selfies, TECNO lists a 13MP front camera and Samsung a 12MP fixed-focus front camera. Megapixel counts and camera configuration do not prove which phone takes better photos. The available specifications do not include a controlled camera comparison.

Battery capacity and charging
TECNO lists a 6500mAh battery; Samsung lists 6000mAh typical capacity and 5830mAh rated minimum. Both list 45W charging. The capacity difference is a specification, not a measured battery-life result: screen settings, network conditions, apps and other use affect runtime.

Software and long-term updates
Samsung makes the clearer support commitment in the available specifications: six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates from the first global launch date. Samsung says this policy may change. The Galaxy F70 Pro 5G page lists One UI 8.5.
TECNO lists HiOS 16 based on Android 16, but its retrieved specifications do not state an equivalent duration for OS or security updates. That absence is not proof that the phone will receive no updates; it means the same-term commitment cannot be compared from these listings.

Price difference in India: treat listings as snapshots
Two India comparison pages displayed different Samsung prices while showing the same TECNO figure. Their displayed amounts imply a gap of more than ₹23,000, but they are separate marketplace-offer snapshots rather than verified official prices or a confirmed launch-price comparison.

Samsung’s official India page lists the 8GB/256GB green model, SM-E476BZGGINS, as “Not for sale,” despite the third-party comparison pages showing a price. The listing gives an August 3, 2026 launch date and warns that prices, specifications and availability can vary by location. For a current purchase decision, verify the exact RAM/storage variant, seller, stock, warranty, return terms and checkout total; do not treat either comparison price as a guaranteed offer.

Which one makes more sense for you?
- Consider TECNO if its listed 144Hz display, 6500mAh battery or explicit ultrawide camera better matches your priorities, and the verified local offer suits your budget.
- Consider Samsung if the stated six-generation OS and six-year security-update commitment matters most, or you specifically want its Super AMOLED panel and triple-camera configuration.
- Compare exact retail variants. TECNO lists 256GB models with 8GB or 12GB physical RAM and a 512GB/12GB option; any “extended RAM” is virtual and should not be counted as physical memory. The Samsung page covers an 8GB/256GB variant and lists microSD support up to 2TB.
Processor names and clock speeds are not enough to declare a performance winner. No comparable independent benchmark, battery test or camera test is established by the specifications cited here.
Size, durability and accessories
TECNO lists the POVA 8 Pro 5G at 189g and 7.39mm thick; Samsung lists the Galaxy F70 Pro 5G at 206g and 8.1mm thick. Their dimensions differ, so do not assume cases or screen protectors fit both models. Buy accessories explicitly labeled for the exact phone.
TECNO advertises IP69K, IP69, IP68 and IP66 resistance ratings. Treat these as manufacturer-rated claims, not a guarantee against all water or dust damage. Samsung’s listing specifies Gorilla Glass Victus; that is a glass specification, not a complete durability rating.
